As the temps cool down ,The trolling bite is heating up. The beginning of the week saw upper 90 degree days but the fishing remained steady, with 8 to 12 fish common for a three hour morning or evening trip. On Wednesday morning my son Todd and I were able to get out for a few hours and were on the water by 5:00 am. By the end of our first pass we had three nice eyes including this 27" that tipped the digital scale at 8 lbs.
These along with some nice eaters all came trolling #5 and #7 shadraps in firetiger and clown at 2 mph (gps) in 8 to 10 ft of water. Finding areas behind current breaks and inside bends where there was less current seem to be the key to finding active fish, like this 23" slot fish Todd caught on a #7 rap.
Pool 16 is producing some nice fish right now and by keying on the reduced current areas mentioned, getting a few fish for the table should be fairly easy. For those of you who plan on visiting pool 16, Remember there is a slot limit and any walleye between 20 and 27" must be released immediately. Good luck and happy 4th to all
Nice fish Tony

Nice fish Tony, good to see you on fish. I had a bad day on the water today but at least I got out. You can’t catch always catch fish.
