FLW WALLEYE LEAGUE Miss River/BayCity 5/7/05

Well I have my first FLW tournament for the year under my belt. My partner for the day was Toby Kvalevog of Brainerd MN, Toby is a 6th grade Phy Ed teacher and a fishing guide on Gull and other Brainerd area lakes during the summer. Toby is also on the Crestliner Pro Staff, he is fishing the all of FLW Walleye League Tournaments and about four other tournaments this year. We had a tuff day on the water along with allot of other guys, we did not catch our first fish until 2pm a four pound walleye in the back channel on a 3-way with a crawler. We caught our second walleye a few minuets later in the same area. We ended up in 29th place, out of seventy boats only twelve teams brought in a limit of fish so we ended up pretty good for points.

Congratulations to First place winners BRADLEY BULL of MASON CITY, IA and MARK MOEDE of SAVAGE, MN with 5 fish and a weight of 16.02. Brad cashed a check for $2,450 with a Contingency Award of $500. Mark cashed a check for $1,225

WAY TO GO GUYS!!!

Congratulations to second place winners JIM PREISSNER of HASTINGS and MIKE JUNGWIRTH of ARCADIA, WI with 4 fish that weighed in at 15.03lbs. Jim cashed a check for $1,260 and Mike cashed a check for $630 with a Contingency Award for $200

Congratulations to third place winners CHUCK DUBE of BROOKLYN PARK, MN and TERRY BARRETTE of RIVER FALLS, WI with 5 fish that weighed in at 15.02lbs. Chuck cashed a check for $1,050 and Terry cashed a check for $525

  3. Who the heck is this guy

Sorry I could not place all the names with some of the pics, if your pic is posted here without your name send me the post # with your name in a PM and I will add it into the post.

  4. Had a great time fishing my first FLW event. Looking forward to fishing the rest this year. Matt, my partner and I had a slow day but sticking to his game plan paid off at the end of the day. We sat on a couple of spots all day with out a bite and landed the first fish around 2 pm.

It was also great to see some other IDA members and BS a little. Had a fun weekend.

  5. Hi Steve, Also fished the tourney Sat. Saw you Friday evening – should’ve stopped and introduced myself. My boating partner and I finished 54th. Was happy to just get on the board. Also, caught our only keeper after 2:00. Saw James out on the west channel?..I believe. It was my first time on pool 4….very enjoyable. It was only my 2nd walleye tourney ever…I was very surprised/impressed with the amount of information shared among boaters before, during, and after the tourney. Thought it would be more hush hush. Everybody was great, including my boater, Todd Dankert. I think I saw Jarrod and his dad there, also. Anyway, I think it’s neat that you put in the extra effort and take the time to post your pictures and info. Next time, I’ll have to stop and say, hello. Tagger

  6. Thanks for the pics Steve, and thanks for catching all of our FishK . Hope we can hook up again soon. Give me a shout if you want to hop in to pre fish one of the next tournaments. Your welcome in my boat anytime!!!

  8. Nope, not my spot either. Glad I could supply the boat and tackle for you. Great Job, too bad we didn’t have just a little more time.

  9. Nice report Steve, great pictures too. I wanted to say hi Saturday but you were looking plenty busy. Thanks for the report, I’m sure it took some extra effort after a day on the water.
