Tonight was the night I decided I was going to force feed some walleye on Pool 3. Getting out there, we quickly realized that we wouldn’t have to force them to feed! They were already at the table waiting! We started out by pulling #7 and #8 Shad Raps in Silver/Blue and Clown. A little later, the Jointed #7 Craw was the hot ticket. Here is Leroy with a 17″er.
We concentrated our efforts on sand breaks. Long sand breaks behind points. These areas are off the main current, which was really ripping! You could see the water really boiling just beyond the areas where we were pulling. We zigged and zagged up and down breaks from 8 to 14 FOW.
Speeds we tried to keep were .6 to 1 MPH. At times, it would look like we were not making any progress at all. We would move the boat up and down the breaks. If fish were there, they would hit. If we went a while without a bite, we would give her a little gas, and move up a few yards and do it all over again.
We didn’t spend any time jigging in Prescott, but on our putt through the area, we saw a number of boats pulling in fish of legal size. Plastics, and minnows have been productive. If you are looking for a meal of fish, Prescott is putting enough in the boat (Or Buckets for the shore fishermen) to stink up the kitchen back home! Casting jigs from the shore piers in Prescott are getting hot. White twister tails and 1/4 ounce H2O Jigs are the ticket!
For me, it is walleye tomorrow, and cats in the evening! Hopefully the flatheads are as active as the Eyes!
Good luck!

Nice job Tuck! It’s good to see Pool 3 coming to life. Should be real good in the coming weeks, especially once the wingies get going .
