After the cold snap over this last weekend finding numbers of quality fish were hard to come by. I spent alot of time pulling leadcore in 10 to 12 ft, finding most of my fish to really inhale the plugs. All of the fish I caught with leadcore were males, I have the stains in my boat to prove it!
I worked the sand flats with #5 and # 7 shad raps, finding brite colors orange, chartreuse, and pearl white to be my best producers. Trolling speeds ranged from 1mph to 2mph depending were I was and how much current was there. Fish rangeing from smaller then my crankbait up to 26"
I also spent some time pitching plastics into shallow water with some real quality fish, but very few for my time spent there. Glow chartreuse Nuckle Balls and purple chartreuse tail ringworms brought the only two females to my boat in the last 5 days.
I have seen alot of boats running the no wake zones on Pool 4 in the last two weeks. Remember there is a no wake zone At Bay Point Park from just above the TP down to the high bridge, and there is one from above Colvil Park down to below the the southern bay at Colvil. Trust me there not scard to pull you over I have seen it many times!!
Good Luck Fishing
Nice post thanks for you time and for making the post.
Good to see you getting out and having fun Brian, thanks for the report and pic’s
Nice report Brian. Was good to see you the other day.We need a little warmer water to get them really going, but Ive had about the same luck as you.see ya out there. Stuart
Its always fun!
This is the first time I have ever had a kicker on my boat, So I have really had the itch to do some trolling and see what that thing is made out off. The 9.9 is much easier to control then a 75 tiller, and I can run that thing all day and not budge the gas gauge.
I am a happy guy!!!
See ya on the water
The only time the no wake rule applys is when I go through it the first time, not knowing its there, not marked very clearly from the north, now I dont go down there at all. Once biten twice shy…….P.S. the fine is not pretty and niether was the officer.
Sorry to hear that keeps you from coming back.
You do have to watch yourself, I have even seen the BP on shore takeing pics of boats disobeying the no wake. Then they just send the ticket in the mail!
Great report Mr. Sanders, a kicker is great to have when you start doing lots of trolling.
I haven’t been out yet but will soon. Let me know if you have an open seat for some slow fishing this summer, I’d like to join you.
I will keep that in mind!
Til then see ya out there!
