Mississippi River Pool 9 Report 4/14/05

Now this is Fun !!!

Even more fun than a sharp stick in the eye

Today was planned a couple weeks ago and It couldn’t have turned out better Gary Behring and his son Jeff joined me in a trip to pool 9 handlining.I haven’t been out on the water "fishing" in quite some time so I wasn’t sure how things were going to turn out. Well it was like ridding a bike…I got on,started pedaling and it just came natural.

It wasn’t long after the short intro on the tools and we were on fish If i remember correctly Jeff took off to a big lead and then Gary came on strong in the end.

Pictured here is one of the best fish caught today and Jeff did a fantastic job bringing it to the boat. After a couple of quick pix, this fish was turned loose of coarse.

We were using 2-3 pound weights with 5′ and 15′ leads back to a number of different types of stick baits.

If i could think of more to add i would but it’s been so long since i posted a report i’m drawing a blank..

Well it’s back to packing out your BFT orders. And if you didn’t get your order quite as fast as usual, please forgive me I’ll be on them tonight and ship them out tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing my boat today guys I had a FANTASTIC Time

  1. Looks like the post-spawn feed-bag time is getting underway on pool 9.

I know where I’m gonna try to go sometime next week…

Great report. You just can’t have too much fun with ‘nook.

  2. I just want to thank dave for a great day on the river. Dad and I had an awesome time. I was a blast watching him catching fish, and I was also glad to see you put a couple in the boat. Thanks again for a very memorable outing.

    NICE FISH
I thought that was you that went by us on the river. By the time I realized that it was you, you were to far away to say Hi. We were in a green and white Crestliner. It was our first time out and it sure was a beautiful day. Ended up with some nice eater size males. Next time I,ll reconize your boat. Hope to see you out there more often.

  5. Great report and pic’s Dave. I hope my buddy Dale will catch some like that this weekend then he might have a chance to place in the money.

Thank You for the Cards and Ringies
