Pool 14 Walleye Report

It has been sometime since I have been on the river due to family illnesses. Today I had the pleasure to fish with Brent Henning of Rock Isand Il. and Field Staffer John Tucker of Albany Il. It was really great to spend the day with these two guys. The bite was alittle off, but we landed some nice eye’s. Here’s John and Brent with some of the fish that made it to the boat.

John being the expert on 14, he was our guild for the day. We started our day pitching plastics to some rip-rap shore line. We had quite a few hits but no takers. So John suggested that we move on up river to another spot that he fished a week or so ago.

About 10 minutes later we were there. It was an area that had a really nice current seam with a back eddy to it. We decided to go vertical here. Super Doos wiht H2O jigheads were the best baits going for us here.. We found our fish in the 18′ to 23′ range.

We ended the day up by the dam were we picked up a few fish on three waying stickbaits. I would just like to thank John and Brent for the day we had. I hope we can do this again soon.
