My son Andrew and I got out for a couple of hours on Sunday and had a wonderful day. We fished a pond that was just full of nice bass, with a bonus jumbo crappie and some nice bluegills. I was casting small jigs for panfish and Andrew opted to use a pumpkinseed ringworm. He must have caught 20 nice bass before I made the switch. He even went so far as to give me direction as to how to catch them. He thinks he is ready for the pro tour. The crappie inhaled a black and chartruese ringworm (caught by Dad) and the bluegill was caught on small crappie jigs. The crappie measured a tad over 16″ and I would guess weighed 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. We let them go to catch another day. Can wait to ice fish this pond.
Steve,
The smile on your sons face says it all.
WOW THAT IS ONE NICE PAPERMOUTH. I CAN’T WAIT TO PULL A FEW OF THOSE UP THE ICE HOLE THIS WINTER. LOOKS LIKE YOUR SON IS ENJOYING HIMSELF, AND THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. THE TIME YOU SPEND TOGETHER. KEEP IT UP….
