Bite improving on Bay de Noc

The fall bite is on the upswing on the Bays de Noc. The water temps in the mid forties have the big migratory Walleye on the move.

Trolling large Cranks behind leadcore seems to be the popular technique right now, however anglers are connecting by jigging deeper shoreline breaks with jig/minnow combinations. The sunny forecast for the next few days should enhance a low light bite up on the shallow flats and rivermouths.

The lucky angler in this picture is Tom Stone from Gladstone, Mich. He caught this 31.5" 12lb 4oz walleye trolling deep water near the Marina. The firearm deer season opens Monday and I’ll bet a lot of water will be open for the walleye seekers!

Me?…I’ll be sitting in a brush blind with my trusty .308 Winchester. Good Luck Guys!

  1. Tom,

Thanks for the report, it’s good to hear from the Great Lakes. Man, that’s a walleye! Good luck in the stand.
