Lake Menomin WI. Report

I will hit a quick report in case your headed out this weekend. The eye bite was a little slower today but I think the barometric pressure had alot to do with that. The good thing though, I was getting bigger fish. The first photo is one that taped at 22 inches. (CPR)

A couple of methods are putting eyes in the boat. First off hair jigs are still producing well. Again I am sticking to the dark colors. I also had success pulling sucker minnows on Lindy Rigs. The fish were hanging a little deeper today. All my fish came out of 16ft or deeper.

With the warm weather I could not resist pulling cranks for awhile. Pulling #5 jointed Raps produced some smallie action. The best action though was provided by perch and crappies like the ones in the second photo. Speeds right around 1.6 were the best. All the panfish came out of ten foot of water. Get out and enjoy the fall fishing and I will see you on the water, Don.

  1. I tried to warn everyone about how goofy I was going to look! I and everyone has to hold Jeff responsible for this.
The fishing is awesome right now, a 22 incher is a decent fish out of this system. There are plenty of 15 to 17 inchers if you a looking for a few eaters. For the future of the system it is crucial to release the 20 + inchers.

  2. Forgot to mention that I am also getting a few quality pike (and also losing a few jigs to em). There is good cance to pull some big fish!
