Bingo, when you hear that word usally that’s mean you have just won. Well October on the Rock River all anglers win if you know how to fish the river. If you do you can catch walleyes like this one.
All my fish in these last three days have come in 5 to 7 fow in the mud vertical jigging 3/8oz Zone “R” jig by Fin-Tech Tackle Co. tip with a big fathead minnow or two small fatheads minnows
The bite has been on real and I’ve waited all year for this. The key is to find that little channel which is little. All these fish are moving up river so every day there in a different area. You can’t get caught up fishing one spot. It might work for a day or two but then you have to move to find them. The vertical jigging bite is working best for me to catch nice fish like this sauger.
I also used a rod with a slip sinker 3/8oz and 12″ leader and gold #6 hook tipped with a large fathead minnow dragging it behind the boat to catch this double header. The walleye was catch vertical jigging and the sauger was caught on my dead rod, double header , it was great. All these fish were CPR except Sunday when I kept some fish for dinner. So stop by the Rock River to have fun like I have the last three day which will last to New Years if we don’t freeze up. A great place to get bait is Barth’s True Value Hardware in Fort Atkinson and Nuckle Ball Jigs are there also and the in-depthangling banner so check it out. So for all you anglers that put your boat away for hunting, it’s a mistake, some year you have to try this awesome fishery.

Again, it was the Jeff Patrick School on the Rock this weekend. Myself and my buddy aka “The kiss of death” left with one 16 inch sauger and caught a couple of shorts. After watching Jeff land a few fish my buddy asked “What is he doing that we aren’t”. My reply was catching instead of fishin. As usual Jeff helped us out with a little more insight on the Rock. Thanks as usual and way to go Jeff.
