Memonin, WI. Report

The past week has seen alot of changing conditions and water temps. The good thing about it is the fish seem to be reacting to any and all changes. First off the water temp. for the past 7 or so days has been between 65 and 55. This has not effected the bite as much as I thought it would. I have not been changing presentations much- trolling cranks has taken up most of my time with a few hours spent tossing jigs. Both methods are producing fish but if your looking for some fast action give the crankbaits a try!

Flatlining, running boards, cranks on 3ways,leadcore, well you get the idea. Any and all methods are putting a variety of fish in the boat. What has been solid for me is running leadcore or pulling boards. I have been concentrating on weed edges that are wind blown. The best depth is around 8ft. Craw colored # 5 jointed raps have been hot all week, follow by white glass and then blue shad. Firetiger also has worked on occassion. On the lead I am running the lures about 55ft back. Good sized perch, northern, smallies, whitebass and eyes all have been taken with this presentation. Trolling speed at about 1.8 has been the best. The first photo is a couple of white’s taken on cranks.

The jig bite for eyes is still a little on the slow side but fish can be taken. The best bite for me has been on dark colored hair jigs or blue 1/4 ounce jigs tipped with leeches. 11 to 16 ft has been the best depths. Deadsticking crawlers is a good option also. Along with the eyes, I have been pulling a few slab crappies on jigs also.

Northerns are still hitting topwater baits and cranks. Running spinners and crawlers is also producing a few fish. This big boy in the last photo hit a spinner rig!

The weather sounds great for the weekend and the fish are spankin! A great time to get the kids out for a day on the water. Don
