Here in the Nisswa Area fishing continues to be good. If you are looking for Walleye action look no further than Gull Lake. Gull has been providing steady action lately though most fish caught have been on the small side. In the mix we’ve had some nice fish in the 20-inch range. The fish have been scattered and have been catchable from 14-36 feet. Walleyes are chomping on Lindy Rigs tipped with a Redtail Chub or Creek Chub. A few anglers have also started catching fish on jigs tipped with Rainbows. Look for this jig bite to get better as we continue into fall. Anglers that have searched for nicer fish have found them on North Long Lake and the Whitefish Chain. Northern Pike have started to feed up for winter. Anglers are having success using big Creek Chubs on the edges of big weed flats. Crappies are still active along the weed edge in 12-15 feet. The best crappie bite has taken place in the evening hours. If you want to learn the lakes better, there is no better time than fall. The fish are hungry and the weeds are fewer. Our professional guides have a few openings if you like a quick learning session. The leaves are starting to turn color and the lakes have been quiet, it sure is a nice time to get out and enjoy the area. The best time of the year is here. Good Luck this week!
