Le Homme Dieu Chian, Part Two

From there it’s out to the lake and start working the weedlines. Keep in mind many of the best lines may be way away from shore. Each cast should go slightly past the inside edge of the weedline and be retrieved to the outside edge. When the fish are active they frequently roam the inside edge looking for an easy meal. The less active fish may move to the outside edge. Keep the boat moving until you catch a fish, than slow down and work the area for several minutes. It’s common to catch several fish in an area. This style of fishing of fishing can hold the interest of a kid who might get board with trolling or live bait fishing. Casting is fun because you’re doing something all of the time and improving the accuracy is the challenge.

The tournaments went very well with limits for 95% of the guys. Saturdays weather was high skies with light-winds which generally means a tougher bite. I had the big fish for the day at four pounds and the winning bag of 12.80 pounds. Sunday was windy and overcast and the big girls showed up. Mat Hanson of Rochester weighed in a 5.55 largemouth and won the tournament with 14.05 pounnds. Too the guys in the MN Federation, we’re known as river rats but we have figured out how to fish a lake!

Second place went to Rick Billing just .15 pounds out of 1st. Rick is holding a 4.45 and 3.95 pound bass.

Mike Kepp was third, Mike is holding a 3.35 fish that anchored his bag.
