Pool 10 eyes

With the dreadful heat wave we have been dealing with throughout the midwest, my buddy and I decided to get out at sun up to beat the heat in search of some hungry walleyes !!!

Hopped into the Chevy and shot over to a close landing and was on the water by 5:30 this morning.. We dropped the terrova down and hit spot loc just above a wingdam and commenced to casting…and it didn’t take long to get some whacking !!!

Thats when Steve let out a WHOA !!! and said FISH ON !!! Steve picked out the #7 Bleeding Copper Flash jointed shad rap and with the Suffix 832 braid in 6# diameter, he was able to get that bait down far enough to tick the rocks of this wing dam and pull this sweet 25″ walleye

With the river coming down fast I was still looking for wingdams that are normally very shallow,, but these wingdams are still 6′ down.. So the ability to get the Rapala down to tick the rocks is a must !!!
#7 Jointed Shad Raps, #9 Shad Raps and Storm Mad Flash cranks did the job !!!

With some of these quality rock piles scatter thruout the Mississippi, the best presentation is a jig and plastic !!

I pulled a 3/8 oz head out and put a 4″ Trigger X Pearl Minnow on and stuck this nice walleye that measured out just over 20″…

Weather cooperated with a nice south breeze and and we even got a nice rain shower for about 10 minutes after this nice sun rise shot…

There is still a lot of crud coming down the river so be careful out there !!

The Tug is the Drug Baby !!
