After my guide trip with Bob Lemon and a short break I got back on the water with my boys Cole and Austin. The bite was fantastic and there were several fish boated.Between helping the boys with technique, bait, and fish there was hardly any time for the ‘ole man’ to fish.Austin with his first legal eye of the year.
We caught many smallmouth when we were rigging the eyes with livebait.Austin got his biggest smallie to date with a 18" bruiser. It was so fun to watch him fight this fish as he caught it on a 5′ UL Lighting Rod,what a fight!!!Here he is with a 17.5" smallie.
Austin was the "hot stick" for the day. Here is another legal eye for him.We simply rigged live bait with leeches and the fish were going crazy.
Kent Krause joined me on the water during dusk for a few hours of walleye fishing.Kent has never fished walleyes so it was a fun night for him.He put a 15" and nice 18.25" walleye in the boat. The digital would not work right in the darker conditions so the pics did not turn out on his eyes-sorry Kent. Here is me with a 18.25" smallie.
Take care,

Great report Ryan.. Thanks
Ryan, looks like you’ve had a fun week. I see the boys out-fished you again! You taught ’em too well I guess…
I brought the boat back from Ottertail so I’m sure I’ll have to sneak up to Okoboji a time or two. Maybe we’ll give you a chance to relax and be the co-angler for a while.
Thanks for the offer Wade,as always would love to fish with you.I got to relax for a few hours yesterday afternoon on my Berkley trip.Had 2 very good bass anglers on board and I just sat back and watched them put fish in the boat.Report will be up in a few.
