The water temp is on the rise and the bite is heating up. I have been on a multi-species hunt this week in hope of getting some patterns down for the youth event on saturday. Wednesday was the eye action was the best to date. Livebait rigging or 3ways both took numbers and keeper fish. The key was to slowly troll upstream over any type of bottom change. Leeches by far are the best bait to use. The first picture is a 21.5" caught on Wed.
Trolling the main lake was hit and miss this week- until today. With the water temp going up 6 degrees in a 48 hour period, the trolling bite was hot today. Pulling cranks behind 3 ways produced both eyes and pike on the main lake. I keyed in on 8 to 10 ft depths. The second picture is two of the hottest colors today.
I have not had success targeting pan-fish. Today I talked to a few anglers that did well on both gills and crappies. I do not have any information so check in with Schmidty at the bait shop and he will point you in the right direction. Have a good weekend, I will see you on the water.
Thanks for the ”heads up/report” Don. Will see you in a couple hours on Lake Menomin. Hopefully the rain stays away so we can get the kids out on the water for some fishing and fun.
Thanks, Bill
Thanks for the report Don! And timely too. See you and the kids in an hour!
