Door County Walleye and Smallmouth action

With summer in full swing and water temps reaching close to there warmest peaks fishing for both walleyes and Smallmouth Bass have been going very strong. Having a number of different areas that we are fishing for Walleyes they are finally starting to take up residence in there summer locations in the northern reaches of Green Bay.

Our typical summer fishing techniques for fishing Walleyes on the bay consist of fishing both crawler harnesses behind inline weights or behind snap weights. Another option would be to fish crankbaits such as baits like Rapala Husky Jerks or Rapala Tail Dancers. Always remember to play around with different colors depending on weather you have lots of sun or cloud cover.

The Smallmouth Bass fishing has still been going very strong in shallow water and in deeper water. On days with windy conditions we are seeing great action in the shallow water areas with days of less wind we target both fish in shallow water and deeper water. We are getting fish on different soft plastic presentations along with catching fish on spinner baits.

With lots of time left for fantastic summer time action for both Smallmouth Bass and Walleyes we will continue to see increasing opportunities for the Walleyes in the northern portions of Green Bay along with lots of opportunities to catch some quality Smallmouth Bass
