Gettin’ Jiggy in Door County

The walleye action on Green Bay is only getting better. I thought we would have some post spawn blues but the fish are still going strong. The walleye bite in Door County is continueing to produce great bites for all anglers.

I know in my previous post I had mentioned how I am targeting most of my fish jigging. I have noticed a shift in this technique the past could of weeks. I was previously using a “pop” style technique. I have found the fish are responding to a new method. I call it the “death drag” It has a smiliar pop but it involves slowly dragging the jig on the bottom. Then a quick pop and rest it on the bottom and start the drag again. I feel this mimics a dying minnow on the bottom.

We have also had good action when we are trolling but I like to jig as it is more “hands on” approach to catching eyes. We have also had other bonus species while we have been out. Brown and pike to name a few. All fish in these pics have been CPR’ed, to FIGHT and BITE another day.

Exams are next week. Time to study. I am going to have to chain myself to my desk to keep me from being on the water! LOL
Cool little edit
