Mississippi River Pool 9 Walleyes 4/9/04

Today I had the pleasure of meeting John(jeh41er)Hardin and his buddy Harry from Cedar Rapids Ia. We jumped into the boat, headded up to the dam and started vertical jigging B_F_T’s ringworms in about 19 feet of water and after a few drifts we figured out what color they had preference to. No bait, just 1/4oz jigs and B_fish_N Tackle’s Ringworms popped up and down off the bottom had our fish convinced it was time to eat !!

With three good sticks in the water it really didn’t take long to put 2 limits of fish in the live well. Lots of saugers today and since the bite was going good here, we decided to hang out and enjoy the action. Both John and Harry had real good success on these saugers but, we were hoping that more if the walleyes like the one above would decide to find our offering. But as fast as the action was it just completely stopped around 3pm. We went our last two hours without a bite.We moved farther in, moved out in deeper water, moved accross the river, changed up colors, it just didn’t seem to matter. And once we looked around, we noticed that most everyone was gone, so we joined in and packed up for the day. Thanks for a great day guys and I really hope we can do it again…Hear is a pic of one of the two limits of fish.

see you on the water
