Lake Puckaway, Wi. walleye report

We have been out on Lake Puckaway drifting and using light jigs and split shot rigs for walleyes. The jig sizes we are using are 1/16th down to 1/32nd once in blue, green amd purple and orange for the most consistant jigs. The split shot rigs are 1/8th once split shots with colored hooks and some added beads for color. The baits we have been using are jumbo leeches and night crawlers.
My clients said they have never caught a norhtern or a walleye before , so I told them I was going to change that for them. We boated 25 walleyes for the day and a dandy northern for the day. We even picked up some white bass as well. They caught on to jigging pretty fast and we had a great day fishing. Being verticle jigging was the key for the walleyes that day.

We had some good fishing and they were amazed of all the things they learned for walleye fishing in one day. It was a pleasure fishing with you two.

Today I had some free time to take the wife out for the day chasing walleyes and a great day it turned out to be. We were using the light jigs again today and the split shot rigs with some fast action. On our first drift of the day after having some coffee with Rod and Dee Dee at Rivers End bait shop we had 3 legals in the boat. and we were off to a very fast bite for the day. Dragging the jigs was the tip for the day with the jumbo leeches. It was her first time out for the year and she was smiling most of the short time we were out fishing. We also did some trolling this week with some northerns hitting pretty well yesterday.

We had walleyes ranging from 8 inches up to just shy of 20 inches.
