Man oh man, what a weekend. Got into em good this last weekend. What a bunch of absolutly beautiful days to get out with the exception of the Sunday storms. Friday I got one of those rare days to fish with my girlfriend, Heather. The bite was a little slower but still great for the conditions. We managed about 30-40 fish, with a lot being short, but I did manage this wierd 4lb largemouth that was covered in black spots. Pretty much its whole body on both sides above his lateral line were covered.
Saturday for some reason or another I couldn’t find a soul that wanted to go so I ended up going by myself. I found the morning bite tough untill the water warmed up a bit later in the day. Then it was lights out. I only fished till about one o’clock because my wrist and arm were worn out! I must have boated 50 fish with my biggest one being 4lbs. I had another boat fishing in the area take a picture for me.
Sunday I made it out with my buddy Dylan to break in his new boat. We only fished for about three hours and then got kicked off from the nasty storms that passed through. Somethen about that front coming through really turned the fish on!!! I mean even more than they already were! We would go 10 casts and catch 10 fish! I don’t even know where to guess on how many were caught.
We actually found the fish deeper than you would expect for this time of year. Most everything came out of 10 feet or more but had to be next to shallow water. We did manage a very few on some shallow wood. The hot baits were what you WOULD expect, catching most fish on beavers, jigs, traps and jerkbaits. The bite was very light, most fish just held on and felt like weight.
Dylan’s first bass out of his new Stratos. He was a Ranger guy, I must have converted him! This fish was FAT and WIDE!
Nice job guys
Nice way to kick off the bass season!!!
Nice work! They were biting on Tuesday too. We didn’t get 50, but we had 20. Biggest 3#. Current seams were the ticket.
Good to see Dylan and Kris back at it!!!
