They should start by placing info in the package. Just picked up a couple of 100 yarders and the info in the package is attaching your mono using the knots that leadcore people have used for years. Nothing about using a swivel. Thank goodness for IDO and the people that post about solving issues, hopefully I won’t have the problem.

Thinking the rainy lake edition is about over with the rainy lake staff person gone. Maybe someone else will step to the plate. I’m guessing they are working on it. Wish I got up there more but it’s tough writing a good report that helps others.

I just sold my home and had to have it tested by the county for $100, less if you bring a sample in.

Thanks for the posts, like yamaha’s reliability but if it only got 4 m.p.g. that’s 50 percent better than the e-tec and on Rainy I can go thru the gas and no $50 dollars worth of oil every two tanks

James, That would be great if you could shoot me his e-mail. I found your post from when you shared all the info on your off shore and that was interesting. dealer still likes the e-tec. I’m too old for face book.

I’m on rainy and have two of them, love them. North wind still sucks though but at least I don’t need to see a chiropractor

Fished the north arm and also caught a lot of eaters. The 2 biggest were a 24″ & 27″. The bigger ones were caught on deeper clay flats. Had about 6 fish each day that spit up smelt, seems like they are making a come back. About half came on spinners and the other half on jigs and plastics, except the 2 big ones came on a jig and 3″ of a crawler. Saw a lot of carcasses floating from some kind of a bug hatch, not sure what but there were quite a few floating around. Expect next weekend to be pitching plastics on the reefs and humps, normally my best weekend for big fish.

No I don’t like yanking chains. If I remember right you were up by Mille lacs, i looked thru my saved messages and couldn’t find your response. I didn’t think about searching my past posts, my error and I apologize.

Gander mountain said they would take them, not sure how I feel about that. Trying to keep my 17 pointer and my buffalo which was ranked 20 th Boone and crockett when shot, but not even sure about him because of his size. been hesitating too long, move in about 6 weeks.

Owned a home on wabigoon for 5 years, lot’s of walleye, northern and smallies. Lot’s of reefs and as far as I know there still isn’t a chip for the lake. Trolled lures a lot with gold walleye diver the best. Used lindy rigs and casting jigs. Wasn’t into spinner rigs like I am now but I bet they would work very well. Personal best there was a 30″ walleye and a 44″ northern but they are on the skinny side, don’t think the walleye broke 8 lbs. very stained lake. It is actually a chain of 7 lakes and a couple are pretty clear. Pm me if you want more info. Who’s camp are you staying at?

You never know, I usually wander your way once a year just so I can burn gas. Pretty sure I won’t see you up the north arm. Did see Billie from Rainy lake houseboats guiding up there last year, he actually was on a spot that only I knew about, he must have been following me (:

I have a place on Rainy and fish every other week from opener thru October. I struggle the most early but the bass help make up for it. If I have friends come up that can only come once I would tell them plan on anytime after July 4th thru labor day. The walleyes are very active and for me more predictable and for lounging with the family with better weather patterns this is a good time. I will also add about hiring a guide for a day. I hired Woody once and Chris Granrud once even though I had a place for several years. Both were nice guys and I learned a new technique from each of them. Chris took me to Voyaguers which was a really nice area. He gets a lot of love on this site, but for some one that fishes this lake a lot it is well deserved. His reporting is fantastic and even though I fish a totally different part of the lake you can take the structure info and apply it elsewhere. The deep clay areas has been a godsend for me in August/Sept. Most of the time I pull bottom bouncers and half a crawler. I actually have only been to the Voyaguer area twice since I hired Chris but the only reason is it’s a long ride from my house. It is a nice area and from his reports you can see it is quite the fishery. Have fun.

Bought one for the wife 6 months ago. We take it to Rainy instead of my pickup, lot’s of leg room, rides great and the dogs are not on someones lap. Gets 20-22 on the interstate. Really like it a lot. The only thing I don’t like is if you are tall, I’m 6’3″, the headrest is angled forward too much and so your head tips forward, not real comfortable, so I turned it around. Very nice vehicle.Dealer says this is a common complaint but not that big of a deal.

I know it’s hard to do in a guide boat, but spinners are still going crazy. Think I’m getting more of a reaction strike lately but plenty of walleyes along with a 40″ and a 41″ northern in the same day. Don’t know which my daughter had more fun with catching one or netting the other. I even took the no minnow guy from another site out and after about 15 minutes and he was down 8 to 0 he grabbed an extra spinner rig rod and tried to catch up. We did try jigging and he got 1.

Agree, stay in my air-condition 20 room 8 bathroom house that uses over $30,000.00 in utility cost a year.

We did the same thing with a hot springs spa, winterized it and then it developed a leak, drained 6″ every 2 days. It was off of warranty but I called Hot Springs and no matter what the dealer says you never winterize the tub especially in Mn., too many issues. I did get a new one and won’t winterize it, did get $900 trade in and a 20% discount off of list on a new one so there must be some value as a fixer up.

These “tax breaks” are business expenses that almost every other industry is allowed to claim on their taxes thus reducing their tax burden, I don’t believe they get any unusual breaks just because of who they are. Supposedly it’s the speculators that have more of an impact on pricing. Almost all gas drilling sites that are on public land have to pay royalties to the state for the amount extracted, Alaska makes a lot of money from these royalties. Just to add more fuel to the fire you should look up the Mining act of 1872. This allows all mineral mining companies, I/E gold and silver to mine public land, extract the minerals and pay ZERO royalties. Our elected officials tried to change it several years ago but a senator from Nevada wouldn’t let it be brought up. I wonder how many mines are in Nevada. There are so many sweet heart deals for select industries it’s funny.

Very very nice, I talked to Dave last fall about trading but having a hard time parting with my Ranger. I might have to drive over to your place to take a look, I’m guessing I won’t run in to you up the north arm.

Outdoor card and fishing license is 1-800-387-7011 they take credit cards and usually only takes a couple weeks. Or when my kids mess up and forget to do it we hop in the boat and go under the rainier bridge to the bait store in Canada

Politicians, don’t you love them. Very few do what’s right for the masses.
