I got a pair of Irish setter 2000 gram water proof boots and my feet are always dry and warm. Made by red wing boots so you know they are good. Price was like $170 I think.
I have now, looks like the perfect rod for guys like me who fish up close to the hole. I do find myself back and forth between sitting back and leaning in close a lot.
I would bring it back to cabelas and demand a new unit. If they say no then make them show you another lx9 ducer to prove to you it’s how they come. I have always had good customer service when it come to cabelas. My guess is there will be an exchange no questions asked.
Well with a little persuasion from Mr. Will Roseberg and the famouse Dave Koonce himself I pulled the trigger on the 27″ noodle split grip. I’m sure it will work great but from the sounds of some elderly advice I will be extending the length when I order a new one next year. I can’t thank my uncle Dave enough as he has been more than perfect with my endless ice fishing questions.
do you guys sit back and fish or lean forward. I find the 24″ rubbing the front of the tent if I don’t have everything set just right. With the heater and marcum behind the holes it don’t leave you much room. IMO.
A 27″ rod is pushin too long for my taste inside the otter cabin. As I like to lean forward and fish. My 24″ blackbetty has done excellent for me in the shack. I’m lookin to get a 25 or 26 inch noodle. 80% of the time I’m in The shack. My only problem is the choice between a straight reel or a spinning reel. Alex/burlap bro #2, seeing you are my brother and fish the same as me I wouldn’t push anything over a 27″ rod. Unless we get a bigger shanty like an otter lodge which is a very high possibility. Even then a 24 to 27 incher would be just fine.
The bite was even better this morning. More crappies and big crappies. Best part about it was the hot jig my awesome uncle gave us. No bait required today!!
Those that have the “Good Ole’ Gas” are lucky. Less and less stations around here have it. When I do find a station, I fill up the couple 5 gallon cans at a time.
The bait shop in my town sells non ethanol gas!!! It cost more though by like ten cents but that’s where I fill up at.
I love the fact that I can use the scroll graph on my lx6 for open water. And with the open water transducer it’s a win win year round deal with my Lx6!
I got rid of my 2010 FL20 due to the constant loud noises that flasher made. About drove me nuts when fishing with it. So I got a noise free LX6 and that machine is a beauty. Quiet, sleek, and performs just fine.
It will only work with the open water transducer. On a different note a digital clock would be nice to have on the lx 6 screen… Hint hint to anyone who can make this happen.
