I think the 12″ is the cut off for me. I currently have the 106 and am debating on moving up to the 12″. I feel like if I’m looking at a live screen all day why not go with the biggest screen I can fit on my shuttle.

The ultra’s are a step above the standard echomap series. UHD2 is 2nd gen. of the UHD echomap series. Ultra’s are available with 10 and 12″ head units only.
Netguy, thanks for the update. How much ice did you see up there? Extension needed?
You are not alone. I don’t have a ps22 but an lvs32 and it as well has its limitations in deep water and that’s why I still bring along my mechanical flasher.
I run a clam Yukon XT thermal and just lay it flat with the tail gate open in my Chevy Colorado with a 5ft bed. I have 2 eye bolts. One on each side of the sled secured with straps to the rear tie down points to keep them from sliding forward. For extra measure, I run a ratchet strap across the front tie down points. I can fit most of the gear inside of the sled with no issues driving to the lake.
I have the G2 composite shaft and it uses the straight through blades(mora style). The Alpha composite shafts uses a different style of blades (turbo). Both composites but different style of blades, whether the blades are interchangeable? I don’t know.
My guess is Turbo blades are more aggressively pitched, hence why they cut faster?
On my livescope setup 93sv UHD, I ran the 18ah amped battery and it got me by for 8 hrs of fishing no problem. I’ve been told to never let the battery drop under a certain voltage for normal operation. After 8 hrs I can see my voltage drop below 12v but still functional. I now run the 10 echomap ultra 106sv and have switched to the 30ah amped with no worries of running out of juice for the amount of time I spend on the ice. Having the largest capacity battery that will work in your shuttle is the way to go IMO. Hope this helps.
Yep, I freeze my credit and only unlock when I am applying for something that requires credit check. To each their own but that $5 a month gives me that piece of mind I guess.
Spent a good half hour with a great young salesperson at Scheels last night and went very in depth on the Eagle Eye 9. Yes, has limits vs. other units but seems like a great unit for ice fishing.
While I get that it is not an apples-to-apples comparison, the beam in down mode is wider than a traditional flasher and does get a live view with a reasonable field of view.
In forward, can still search the ice, just will be a smaller and a bit different section of water that you are viewing but can still cover the areas you want – can still scan a wide area by rotating pole / maybe having to punch a few more holes.
Of course, was just in demo mode but clarity was great and seems simple to use and cannot imagine these are not going to be a big hit.
The original question mentioned not interested in a unit for a boat, but for those that are, I think yet another reason to consider. I have been considering some type of electronics for front of boat to have mapping and some sonar capabilities when fishing from font of boat and running bow mounted trolling motor. Seems this unit will more than serve that purpose – either with transducer mounted on trolling motor or just keep it set up on a Genz box or a shuttle and drop a pole.
In summary, the salesperson (and I get he was trying to make sale) was very informative and had nothing but great things to say about the unit. He and the rest of the Scheels team have tested in their fish tank – for what that is worth or not but will be good to see some more ‘real’ on the water (and eventually on the ice) reviews.
What is the angle of the beam when in down view? For ice fishing, being able to switch from forward to down view at the push of a button is very convenient. My first initial thought when I had seen this offering from lowrance was definitely “Garmin LVS12”.
Bump! This is still for sale. $550 picked up, located in 55901
I believe that property sold here recently and the new owners are the ones who are the ones who put up the chains and gated it off.
I do recall the sign saying for paying customers only or something of the sort as well but there was no contact information, do you know anything about that?
Cleats for traction and safety. One little slip can ruin the entire season or worse.
You might have to buy directly from ardisam as a replacement part if you want to utilize the pistol bit disc in fear of the auger coming undone. I myself run the clam plate with the gear reduction box and the ion ultra light bolts right up.
Going on 2 yrs now and I would say I put around 12-14k miles a yr. Driving around town and road trips, no hardcore off roading with them. Rotated with every oil change around 5-6k miles.
Not really sure what you are asking….?
The listing is for the UHD 93sv. It comes with the gimbal bracket if that is what you are referring to?
Anyone looking into getting into livescope for this season should pick this up. Don’t buy the package that Garmin is selling, price and piece out the package yourself and save $$$$$
I shouldve picked up the LVS12 transducer when they were on sale half off, can’t find them now anywhere. Would love to see some footage of it this winter in both forward and down Joe. I heard you can run both views the same time on one screen…?
Still available. Only used during ice season practically new still.
I like running my 2500 size open water Daiwa’s. Bigger and Shallow spool for better line management and better drag.
