True Garvi… I figure if I buy him a side of beef also, we can call it even…

All jokes aside, I’m pretty lucky. I was told many years ago that just about any guy can make a child, but it takes a real man to be a father. He is a real man, and I hope with my daughter I am too.

Oh yeah, I have no problem with him helping himself… It was just funny to see.

Thanks for the kind words. Some of the biggest smiles I got were from a previous class when a 5 year old boy explained to his father the difference between a Walleye and a Sauger. His dad was amazed. Also, this recent class, one of the girls did a fair project on how to identify Northern, Muskie and Tiger Muskie. She got Grand Champion and a trip to the MN State Fair. I am a proud teacher.

Forgot to say it, but there are also night classes available for kids. Still $10 and they the same class, just on two nights. Please give me a call and we can set it up.

    Good luck and great fishing.

    Just got this thread.

I’m a County Veteran Service Officer out of Houston County Minnesota, office in Caledonia. I work with a lot of PTSD vets. Feel free to have him call my office, 507 725-5805. I will help him in anyway I can. Same goes for any Veteran. It’s a free service, and I’m here to deal with the VA so the veteran doesn’t do it alone.

Thanks for the kind words. Kaitlyn hasn’t stopped talking about it since Monday. It’s great when a kid gets ‘hooked’ on fishing!

I saw some guy hanging his wife over the edge of their bass boat so she could ‘tinkle’ and a young kid let go of the rope to his boat on the main channel. Nice scratches on a new Skeeter from rocking on the rocks.

    In-Depth,

Thanks again for spreading the word. The event was a great success. The “Fishing Tree” auction went great. The total dollars are on the website, http://www.thefishingtree.com

Thanks again for all your help & support!

    Hi Brent,

I have one correction, I actually had the wrong Miss Minnesota. I had the Miss Minnesota National Miss listed (bad info from a local contact). It will actually be the 2005 Miss Minnesota Karyn Stordahl at the auction. The website has been updated to show the correction.

    Thanks,

Just updated the site to include the kids trees. In all we have the adult Fishing tree, the boys fishing tree, the girls fishing tree, a walley kit with tons of lures & walleye supplies & videos, the bass kit with lures, plastics, videos, the big fish wreath with muskie & pike lures, the autographed pro kit with signature items from Roland, Woo, Bill Dance, Mary DiV, Charlie Moore, Ron Schara, Mark Raveling & more, and the Babe Winkleman Kit with tons of Babe’s fishing gear.

To see the update go to http://www.thefishingtree.com web page

Thanks again. I hope to see several of you at the event. Look me up and I might buy you a drink for coming.

I agree. Unfortunately, he will likely get picked up. The Raiders would be a nice fit…lol. Moss & him could run over traffic cops together. Consider it Team Building…

    Hey Blue Fleck,

Thanks for your help spreading the word. I wanted an unusual fundraiser to draw in people and interest, and as an avid angler, avid but not always good, fishing seemed like a good one.

The plan is to do this every year, but in the future, we will use it to start a fishing school/tackle lending program for kids in the Tristate Area. Next year, instead of an auction, it will likely be a raffle.
