8 inch Nils convertible that attaches to a drill. Got a Milwaukee Fuel 18 volt drill. I cut about 50 holes thru 16 inches last week on one battery. The drill comes with 2 batteries. The combo is amazing. Super light, and cuts soooooo fast. Will cut 2 holes to 1 vs a gas auger.

Haha. Good question. Everyone above had the right answer. I found em today fishing 35 feet of water and 52 feet of water. One lake, one flock of crappies. You’re lake and flock will be different.

Ryan, check this post for some mods. Mine is on there as well as someone else’s. I just moved the strap forward and velcro’d it in. Love it now.

As far as the difference between the lx6 and lx6s,here is direct from Marcum website.

Yes. I first took the straps off the bag. To do that I used one of those thread cutter things my wife had in her sewing kit. I had to cut the strap off at the bottom on both sides because it was sewn in under the case. Then I figured out the CG, which was a little farther forward. Then sewed them into the inside of the case. I didn’t put them as far down, which makes the strap a little longer. I wanted them inside, so when I get to the lake I can just flip the cover back and don’t have to tuck it through the strap. When I put the cover back on, the strap stays on the inside. When putting it away I carry it by the back handle where you stick your hand inside the back. Make sense?

So I took Eds advice and modified my Marcum case. I moved the stock straps to the actual center of gravity. I also added some velcro straps to the inside to hold the flasher into the case. Not that I needed to, but I had velcro laying around and the sewing machine was already set up. It is awesome! No worries about it falling out at all.

Let us know what Marcum says. You have the update from 2014, same one I have. They’re supposedly coming out with a new update this month to correct some problems. All in all I love the lx7. Just annoying glitches from time to time, which shouldn’t happen with a $700 unit.

Awesome ideas. For the sake of money, I am gonna try Eds idea and move the strap. I like the genz pack too. I saw online there is another case option by ice armor that might work too. Think it had the rod holders built in.

What does it do exactly? I have had issues with my LX-7 in which the depth bounces around. It mostly happens in auto-range. When I switch to manual range, it seems to help. I have read that Marcum is working on an update to correct some issues. The main issue they are correcting is the problem some are having with not showing your jig the first 5 feet.

I have an eskimo 6120i and love it. It fits me, my 2 kids, my wife, and still has plenty of room for equipment. If you don’t need that much room, there are plenty of mid size options. I recommend the insulated fabric; it was -9 couple days ago, and we were in sweatshirts with a Big Buddy running. Clam hubs don’t have removable windows. Eskimo and most of the other brands do – they velcro in.

I bought a small 2 man hub for when I go out by myself or with another buddy. I thought it would be quick. I like to move around and even with the small hub, it was a pain. Luckily there was no wind, so I could just pull it around and didn’t have to anchor it. But when the fish moved, I had to move my hub to the hole, go back and grab my heater and chair. My buddy had a one man flip over and pulled his whole sled around while checking holes. When he found the fish, he just sat down, flipped his shelter, and was fishing. So, thats the route I went. Got rid of my 2 man hub and bought a 1 man flip over, which I am selling by the way. It’s an Eskimo quick flip 1 man. I want to get the Inferno Wide one. I have it posted in the classifieds.

I used an LED strip and cut the strips to length. Attached those to the top poles and soldered all joints together. I used RGB so I can change the color. White is best for general purpose, but can switch to red, green or blue when I don’t need the super bright white. Still gives plenty of light with the other colors. The install was easy, just need the tools and a little know-how. I ran an insulated wire down the pole with an anderson plug on the end. That plugs into my power box. Mine is on a fatfish 6120, but same concept.. The nice thing is the lights stay installed and can be folded up with the tent. I’ve used it 2 seasons now and haven’t had any issues and it is super bright. In the photo, there is a second set of plain white lights I installed to compare the differences. That is why there is the xtra set of wires.

HAHA! I have done the drunk ordering many times. Kids are almost old enough to blame it on them now.

I’m in the St cloud area and went out 2 days ago. Barely over 3 inches. Be careful.

I had the same issues last season. Haven’t had it out yet this year. Aside from that, love it. Caught more fish than my 2 buddies using vexilars. Hopefully the update fixes the issue. When you spend that kind of money, you don’t expect to have silly problems.
