Probably doesn’t make a huge difference but I’ve always been a believer there’s no replacement for displacement.

I think the 1850 is well built and rides great but really think it could use a larger engine especially since the 1880 is built on the same hull. Ranger said the cap for the 1880 allowed extra bracing letting it handle a 200 and didn’t sound like they were planning on updating the rating on the 1850.

On a side note if you end up going with the Ranger the owner of the one I rode in noted even though there seems to be more standard goodies there were some small things that need to be optioned that are standard on the Lund. The ones He noted on his were tilt helm, auto bilge, and venturi aerator that were added after the fact. Not a big deal to add He just wished it would have been equipped with those options when the boat was originally built.

They were being built in Tennessee.. right.? When did they pull up and move?

Brunswick was trying to sell Se Ray last year. Last summer they decided to end the sale and close the FL Sea Ray yacht plant instead and keep the TN plant open. With the sale rumor was production of the Lund GL line was being moved from the Sea Ray plant in TN to the Bayliner plant in Mexico. With the Sea Ray sale not happening not sure if they will retain any or all of the Lund GL production.

As Dustin stated 1880 has jump seats, optional ski pylon, bow cushions and raised rod locker. There is not a bow rider conversion due to the large rod locker. 1880 is a nice boat and was a major contender for ordering last spring but Ranger wouldn’t let me get it with the 200 pro verado so waited for V8 Pro XS. I ended up ordering a 2019 189 Tyee with the V8 since wife insisted on a bow conversion and I wanted the lager 200 with DTs for smart tow. Both are really nice boats but need to keep the Boss happy. Enjoy shopping.
