I’ll be chasing walleyes. I’m catching a few down near clinton iowa though I will be doing some deer scouting by mcgregor. Figured I will pull the boat and fish for a day or two.
October 31, 2016 at 3:16 am #1647969How is the bite up around genoa in late november or early december?
October 30, 2016 at 7:45 pm #1647922Any update on the bite at these two locations? Possibly gonna make a trip either this week or next week.
March 8, 2016 at 7:03 pm #1605264I talked to a guy who fished Saturday and he said he caught 2 keeper saugers. He claims to have lost quite a few others. I’m going to try it again friday if the levels hold steady.
December 9, 2015 at 1:26 pm #1583357Thanks. I really appreciate it. I wanthink to get there as quick as possible. I’m getting more and more excited as the trip date gets closer. May take the river route home though just to see some nice scenery.
June 25, 2015 at 7:51 pm #1551924I have thought about using a guide. But i have been fishing the river for a long time. I think i can figure them out. I use the same techniques down here and do good when i am on the fish. I really appreciate the idea. It is deffinitely something i am considering.
June 25, 2015 at 2:12 am #1551796Well the reservations were made this morning. I will be staying and launching out of Everts from March 31st to April 3rd of 2016. Hope the weather is decent for us. It would just be nice to get into some good walleye action. Its hit or miss here at home. We usually have a good week or two of the hot bite then it turns into more work than fishing. Excited to see the area and maybe make some new friends. So I will see everyone next spring.
June 20, 2015 at 9:14 pm #1551269Im just torn between the two different times i would be able to make it up. Planning on a 4 or 5 day trip. So i wanna make sure we will be able to find fish. Im fine with catching dinks the whole time, but some nice eaters would be a plus. Weather that time of year is hit or miss. Just trying to get it hammered out so i can make reservations. I dont mind if its cold as long as there are some fish. Seems like a great fishery.
March 3, 2015 at 10:05 am #1518821Thanks for all the help. Gonna hit a G3, Alumacraft, and a couple other littke local dealers to see what they have or can get. Again I really appreciate all the input.
February 27, 2015 at 8:08 pm #1517434I have been looking at Lunds and Trackers. Probably going to put my Vex on the front. I just dont know what to get haha. Soooo many options and not enough garage space. Guess i just need to get to a show and mess around a bit.
April 18, 2014 at 8:30 am #1404910I’ve caught a couple small channels while walleye fishing. Have not really tried for flats yet. Water temp is only about 40. Still a little cold. I will be after them soon if the weather starts to warm up.
April 17, 2014 at 8:00 pm #1404894I’m still trying to figure out how to post pictures from my phone. I will have a few up when I get it figured out.
April 14, 2014 at 12:31 pm #1404057Where were all these collected from. I heard talk of a few large walleye coming out of beaver channel. Not sure if its true or not. I have not caught any really big fish. Largest so far is about 5lbs. Hopeing to get atleast one really big walleye this year.
April 10, 2014 at 8:13 pm #1403383I have fished a lot by myself and its just nice to have a fishing partner. I plan on running saturday morning for a bit up around the dam area. Couple shallow creek fingers that hold fish during higher level and flow.
April 6, 2014 at 8:15 pm #1402214The river down here is up about a foot and a half with almost 90 for flow. Seems like it would be flowing pretty good. Might give clinton a go sometime later this week if the water levels hold steady.
March 28, 2014 at 8:23 pm #1400154I work swings and I’m on days this weekend. Earliest ill be able to fish will be friday the 4th. I’m gonna hawk the river level and flow to hopefully get out sometime that week.
March 22, 2014 at 7:46 pm #1398430I’ve been doing some research and its a very big piece of water. I may attempt a trip or two out there this year. According to stocking records they have put in a wide variety of fish in there. Though we shall see when the time comes. I don’t even know where to start out there.
March 21, 2014 at 5:35 pm #1398134Im not too far from ya. Guessing you fished the dam in clinton? I haven’t been to the dam since early in the week. Though when we were up there they were biting. Caught a few sauger and a few eyes. Nothing horribly big. They were in the slower moving water about 20′-30′ deep. Hair jigs and meat worked very well. Just be cautious of the ice that is coming over the locks and also how fast you pull the fish up. Forcing them up fast can kill em easily.
March 19, 2014 at 9:04 pm #1397693Pool 14 runs from below dam 13 in fulton illinois to dam 14 down in leclaire iowa.
March 18, 2014 at 7:23 pm #1397300Clinton is dirty as always but I found a couple ledges today that were holding them. Looking like possibly thursday for me if thebwater level stays steady.
March 18, 2014 at 5:36 pm #1397277Went out snagging today by 13. Snagged a few spoonies. Then switched over to eyes early afternoon. Caught a few sauger nothing big. Biggest was about 17″. Gonna hit it again later this week if the water levels cooperate with me.
March 5, 2014 at 2:08 pm #1394110I’m interested in this area as well. Fished the dam from shore about a week ago and caught to small sauger. Really want to get the boat out but not familiar with that part of the river.
