Check with Authorities as some Lakes/Reservoirs in that area/Arizona-California have AIS Restrictions, Watercraft Quarantine’s, Inspection and Decontamination requirements.

Yup, Friends throughout the northern half State have seen them. A Friend with property in Ottertail County got photo’s of a Pair of Wolves on his trail camera’s. Took pic’s of the Tracks near the Camera’s and presented to a couple MnDNR officials at the State Fair a few years ago. They denied it was Wolves and claimed that was Coyotes and asked where they photo’s came from, he didn’t answer. Just part of MnDNR Denial of facts.

I’ve seen the Photo’s and Yes, they were Wolves, the photo’s had objects in background to get good size estimate. Paw Print photo’s had a Tape Measure showing size.

Just like Mountain Lion’s don’t exist in Minnesota with a breeding population.

Heard so many horror stories, most fishermen I know keep their boat in a locked garage.

Thinking of adding extra security cameras, around my home as within past 2 weeks a guy less than a mile from me had his custom tackle box stolen.

I have nearly walked by a Pheasant on many occasions, especially along fence lines with plowed fields on both sides.

One memory is walking along and seeing a Rooster crouched in the grass of the fence line. I reached down and grabbed him, broke his neck and enjoyed a great meal without firing a shot. Be Careful, without a heavy canvas coat, my arm would have been bloodied by his claws and sharp spikes. My Partner had no clue what was going on, til I showed him my prize.

I think that Rooster went into shock when I grabbed him, maybe he was just sleeping or thought we could see him? Never moved until I grabbed him by the neck.

One more comment, where are we going to get all of the Electricity to charge all these electric vehicles with Government mandates to achieve the so called “CLEAN & SUSTAINABLE ENERGY”.

In the next 20 years XCEL Energy will shut down the power plants:
Kings in Bayport
Prairie Island in Red Wing
Sherco at Big Lake and Monticello
among others.

Sure they are going Big into Solar and Wind but those are not going to sustain and provide all of our needs.

I just watched a video from Ford, they are testing the Electrics at the Swisher Test Facility in the Michigan U.P.

Deep Snow, Ice, Temp’s to -40f and designing them to meet these challenges.

That said, I have a 2017 Ford CMAX Hybrid (Prius looking car). Above 30f I average 45mpg, but as like last winter when the temp dove below 0f to -20f my mileage dropped to mid 20mpg.

Acceleration is awesome, No super fast, but under 10 seconds 0-60, no jerking for shifting as all-electric drive train, gas motor just runs a generator to provide additional power and Heat.

Right on Mike. Years ago we had a well water issue very similar to this and had the water tested to find out why it smelled and rusted so bad. Turned out a neighbor had done something that had local contamination of the water table we were using. We had a new well put down and lived happily ever after.

All the short term remedies is like hanging an air freshener in the schnit house….it works for a while then the stink come back. Stick comes from some source, why cover it up. Get the water tested.

follow the directions on the package it will clean the resin in the softener.

Then used “red out” salt from that time forward.

Do that Rust Out and Chlorine Shock as well as Install an Iron Filter, similar to a Softner but removes Iron.

That is what my dad did for many people years ago, he sold and serviced water softeners and iron filters for 40+ years.

Pure B.S. as is pushing all of the Aquatic Invasive Species Inspections. 2 Prime Examples of Failures are in the Southwest Metro. Christmas Lake in Shorewood/Excelsior and Minnewashta in Chanhassen. Both have had virtually 100% [Full-time] inspections anytime the “PARK/Access Gates” were open and yet both have become infested with Zebra Mussels. Well over $100,000 has been spent on trying to kill them off in each lake and failed in both. Which brings my point of why are we continuing to spend our TAX DOLLARS to prevent the spread of AIS when these lakes & programs have proven the Inspections Program has failed?

I, as the Chair of the Carver County WMO Advisory Committee will push to reduce the inspections program and open the floor to motions for other ideas to educate the public.

I believe there is a Law that states a vehicle must contain a certain percentage of American made parts to claim it is made in America.

Now with that, there should also be a notice with each model of vehicle that states the percentage of American Made parts and where the vehicle was finally assembled.

Thus, some of the Big 3 Automakers have plants in Canada that are made with a higher percentage of American made parts than those assembled in America.

Maybe we can get Stearns or another Manufacturer to help.

A Very Close and good friend at age 70 fell out of his boat last fall, Surface Temp was 54f, he survived thanks to his fishing partner helping get him back in the boat and having a dry set of clothes with.

He got home and weighed his remaining wet clothes, over 20# and no, he wasn’t wearing his life vest. He said he will always wear one now, bought a new auto inflatable.

How much of a DIY are you?
I’d suggest draw up a plan of the house and a wiring diagram.
Have the Electrician look at it and make any recommended changes, and ask for a price of you running all wiring, installing boxes and wiring outlets (time consuming work).
Have him price installing Panel and making connections to panel and signing off with Electrical Inspector or you can be responsible for Electric Inspection. (I have done this before)

If you have the time vs cash.

with reading about it and the Anti-drawdown Law, in reality that would seem contrary to what many scientists and environmentalists now say about Dams and Rivers.

I have read many articles that now say occasional drawdowns are good for river systems and backwater areas imitating the natural cycle of floods and low waters flushing out areas and renewing aquatic plant growth which would seem to be a greater benefit to wildlife, especially waterfowl but also renewing aquatic plant growth in areas to benefit fish spawning and holding areas.
