Umy,
I am interested in what Hospital systems are owned by what pharma companies. Do you have any specific examples?
I know for a fact that the hospital systems in central WI are Not owned by pharma companies. Are you saying Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Sanford are all owned by drug companies?
January 9, 2025 at 3:18 pm #2309689I’d love some examples Eelpout. It is illegal for MD’s to get any kick back, except for education. Then there are very strict restrictions on education contact.
Kickbacks just don’t happen to the average MD.
I am sure in some instances there are kick backs, but your average PCP is not getting kick backs.
January 9, 2025 at 2:01 pm #2309677Just to give you an idea on what it is like in a clinic with drug reps. Maybe not today but not long ago. I was doing the wiring for a new addition and was going back and forth between the new and the old. Lunch time comes and the break room was full of fried chicken and all of the other good stuff. Next day it was pizza and every day it was something. This clinic was not that big but the drug reps were there just about everyday. Drug dealers trying to bribe the doctors is the way I saw it. Just to be fair it was the same thing when I worked at the Duluth clinic doing phone work before it was Essentia.
This does not happen now. Probably a good 5-10 years since drug reps were able to bring in food/coffee, pens/merch.
Drug reps for the most part are not even in the clinics/hospitals, MD’s don’t have time to see them.
Kick backs to MD’s are a thing of the past.January 4, 2025 at 8:22 am #2308557Most of my fishing from Mid May to Mid October is done with Slow Death and bottom bouncers. My go to length is 3 feet before tying knots. Lots and lots of variables and variations to consider with this combo. Spinner type, barrel swivels are a must, line type, bottom bouncer weight, down current or up current if fishing in flow, boat speed, lots of different hook name brands, etc..
Lots of different combinations to experiment with.May 7, 2024 at 6:28 pm #2271458If ice auger catches on rock or root a trip to ER will cost a heck of lot more

May 3, 2024 at 9:35 pm #2270945Spectrum in WI still carries Bally’s.
Brewers games. No Twins. FYI for the discussion.March 24, 2024 at 6:48 pm #2263119Hank Cherry just gave a great end of the tournament speech. Part of it was on FFS. If you get a chance watch it.
March 24, 2024 at 11:32 am #2263052JMU went 32-3 this past season. They had won their past 14 games in a row before this contest. They are probably under rated due to their conference. They might go a ways in the tournament until a team can handle their speed. That still does not excuse the poor performance by WI.
I agree, JMU probably higher than a 12 seed. But along with that, WI probably should not have been a 5 seed. Besides the Big ten tourney, WI was terrible the second half of the season. They just aren’t an athletic/fast/big team. That goes on Gard, he needs to recruit a lot better.
March 23, 2024 at 10:24 am #2262928How old fashion do you want to go Joe? No electronics at all? That’s old fashioned. Every Pro bass guy just pounding docks and shoreline, no offshore fishing?
This is the progression of fishing and electronics. FFS will be the norm in 10 years, just like down/side imaging has become.February 19, 2024 at 12:36 pm #2255033Closest I have ever been to “breaking even” on taxes. I owe $13 between federal and state taxes. LOL.
Owed on federal, getting small amount back from state. My goal every year is to not get a refund. State taxes got me this year.

January 19, 2024 at 7:38 pm #2248965Im not really against it but I am just unsure why people would want to make bets on games that are rigged anyway.
What games are being rigged? Besides a few outliers(Tim Donaghy), games are not rigged by players, refs, leagues, or bookies.
With that said, I only put down$100 every year on office Packer pool. I just don’t get enjoyment out of betting.
January 14, 2024 at 7:15 pm #2247522Interesting how we all have our own roads. I absolutely love open water fishing from April 1st to December 1st most years. My ice fishing has dwindled to a few times a year on the Pete. Almost more of a feeling I like have an obligation to get out. The beauty of fishing, so many facets people can explore and enjoy.
January 12, 2024 at 8:43 pm #2247200That’s definetly scary. I like watching the guy on YouTube who exposes the scammers and brings up their computer cameras and accounts and everything.
If IT YouTubers can do this why doesn’t the United States Government go on the offense and tar and feather a bunch of these C#*ksu*+ers. Seems like we hear about all this cyber crime but never hear of any prosecutions for it??
I hate thieves especially s**t like this!!December 30, 2023 at 5:47 pm #2244672If a person or company charges a fee (example access the lake) that person or company can and most often will become “responsible” for their customers’ safety.
I would expect that liability increases dramatically if the company (resort) charging the fee knows there is a risk.
Beltrami sheriff decided to take the decision and liability (and income) out of the resorts’ hands.
Does that also apply to WI counties charging access fees to Wisconsin waters?
The government should not be in the business of regulating Darwinism!December 30, 2023 at 1:23 pm #2244625Nothing quite like the combo of exploiting both natural resources and government resources for your own personal financial gain. Usually the latter alone is enough to get you chastised around here.
When a bar serves a minor and the minor ends up driving drunk and killing someone, both the minor and the bar are legally liable. While the minor is indeed the catalyst in this scenario, the bar is without a doubt, partially responsible. Just because the consumer wants it, doesn’t mean the business should provide it.
Are the resorts serving minors alcohol?
All these scenarios??? Let’s play on this scenario, said bar as mentioned has a customer come in and has a soda. Customers leaves in the middle of a blizzard, gets in a wreck and EMS has to be called to save the driver. Should the bar be liable for the driver and paying EMS??The resorts are charging customers to cross their private land. That is it, they can not be responsible for what fisherman do on public waters. Same as a bar can not be held liable for letting a sober driver leave in a blizzard.

November 21, 2023 at 6:39 pm #2237083I really enjoy this site, Thank You guys!!!
Other sites:
Lake Link is good for WI guys.Walleye Central okay, less traffic and answers to questions than here. But fairly good content.
MN Outdoors, no traffic, tough to read and follow with all the cut and paste/reply with emojis. No real outdoor conversation except the weather.
