You can put in at Wilcox Landing near Teepeota Point. We fished the wing dams right off the point of Teepeota and did very well. Nice wallys and some smallmouth in between. There is a series of about 3-5 dams with a nice weedline between the sandbar and Teepeota point. Wilcox channel can provide good panfish as does Robertson lake, just may be too weeded over.

I agree, Plus I would like to mention the use of mud motors by people that were not willing to access the hard to get to spots before. I guess it just comes down to being in that right spot at the right time, and a few other things ha.

I saw some flocks of migrators when I was out deer hunting in Southern Mn. This coming week might be the real deal.

Whatever happend to all the “secret spots” in the Nelson Bottoms, everyone know’s them now! There is so much great water to hunt over there. You got the big lake for divers and the back sloughs and channels for the rest. I agree this year is a bad year, Don’t I say that every year now? It has been a few years since I have had an “awesome” day of duckin on Pool 4. I know I am in the right spots and all that jazz. I just truly think the flyways are changing. I would have love to hunted the haydays of the duck hunting on the river, but that was before my time. Anyone recall any of those days you will never forget? Please do share since the rest of us need some uplifting this year. I guess if it was for the ducks I would have called it quits awhile back. Just something about going out early in the boat and all that other stuff that goes with the sport. I just keep coming back for more, but the duck’s don’t.

I shot a nice drake pintail when the Mn season was still in effect. I had 7 circle the dekes and drop in. I ended up with one nice drake. That was the first pintail I had shot in a couple of years.

Hunted Thursday and Sat.afternoon on Pool 4 Robinson Lake/Wilcox. This season is real slow for me so far. I only hunt the wilcox area since our place is on the water there, but there should be some more ducks around. Most Mn duckers hunt the Wisconsin side. I guess next year I might have to do that since there is more water to hunt there. Anyone else been hunting the wilcox area? I know one of these days they are gonna pour in. Crossing my fingers atleast.

I think it is about equal, I believe later in the season the afternoon hunt can be better. It is just a matter of how much time do you have to go. Sometime’s the duck’s don’t get moving until later in the morning or day. When there is actually a big push then I think anytime is a good time for the most part.

Beaver creek is one of my favorite streams to fish actually, It is really tight and lots of overhang. It is for sure fishable though. I have many favorite spots on that stream. Later in the year, the green mucky stuff or algae starts to become a problem. I think beaver gets nailed pretty hard, but you can get a nice day on there.

Snake creek, I don’t know how anyone can fish that tight tree covered creek. I stopped there a few years ago and spotted some brookies, but didn’t even make a cast.

I have fished the indian a few times, it is a hard stream to access, with lots of steep banks. It is very clear and lots of fish can be spotted. If you are a good caster, you can sneak up on em.
