    Good Luck!
The problem is not the DNR its the “fern feelin, bunnie huggers” who live down south. Your typical “citi-idiot” thinks “outdoors” is sitting in club seats at the new u of MN stadium!
The idea of wolves running loose in the north woods makes them feel better about themselves when they write that check to the Sierra Club!
Its the same people who think that gun control is a good thing and why would anyone want to shoot a deer when you can get tasty burger at Lunds!

Same problem out here ” uh where are all the Elk?”
“Ohh thats right “wolfie” needed some num nums”

All politics are local so my suggestion would be to vote for candidates who have a outdoor pedigree!
Sorry Mark Dayton golf at Woodhill doesn’t count.
Sorry Mr Oberstar but fixing your crappy [censored] bill so that fishing guides do not have to get a TWIC (sp?) card doesn’t count!

    Well said Mr Rainy Daze!

Sorry had a better offer. Seems that a certain individual felt that my skill set was better applied to fishing near the Ranier Bridge so that I can be taught every thing I need to know.

Seems to me that spending all that time playing with the technology instead of “jigs in the water’ necessitates a “RD Vice Admiral” on the Skeeter. You know someone to drive along with running, maintaing, and cataloging all the digital information now available to you. This is turn would leave you free to “run the net, take photos and tell lies to clients” I will be forwarding my resume to you by the end of business today!

you can apply online at Rainy Lake Sports and they will mail it to you.
You can always head under the bridge at Rainer and go buy one at the same place. Saves the HASSLE of crossing the bridge and going through customs

I fish both sides of the border on Rainy. The paperwork is no big deal but RD has a good point if you do not have to cross the border to catch fish then don’t. Live bait “minnows” are not allowed to be transported across the border but they can swim back and forth all day long! Go figure!
“going north” under the causeway is the same as “going east” the farther away you get from I Falls and the Fort the less people will be around.
My best advice would be to save up some nickels and hire RD for a day to get you on some patterns and then grab a map along with your GPS and go for it!

    That is a loaded question.

Just install the card. I would read the manual first if you are going to start saving way points onto other mapping programs for reference. Had one for 2 years and barely scratched the surface of what can be done with gps and waypoints.

Is it a bit heavy handed the way the CG has gone about this dealing with “Grizz” and others?

    Answer: YES

In my line of work I have a pile of regulations and insurance that needs to be delt with and I loose jobs every month to unregisterd, uninsured, not paying payroll taxes pirates. If I were a guide and I had all my mandated ducks in a row and I was loosing business to pirate guides you can bet that I would be plenty bent out of shape. I would probably be directing my anger at the CG for not enforcing this until now.

Does it make sense to have a “6pack” to guide on Red Lake?

    OF COURSE NOT

    but its the law!!!

    My two cents

A and T I had 18 inches of snow earlier this month so there is no shortage back in Montana. Yeah its a 15 hour drive, and yes we drive past Ft Peck and the rest of the reservoirs on the Missouri system, Devils Lake, Mille Lac etc.. just to fish the ole Grey Lady of the North. I usually spend 3 to 4 weeks a year fishing Rainy and have yet to be disappointed. I try to hook up with RD at least once a year on the water if possible. Everyone needs to go once with RD just to get a feel for what the patterns are doing on the lake.

Yes RD we solved a lot of problems there in “Falcon Crest”

    Thanks RD!

Next time the Montana Crew will be better rested

Here are some photos of the rest of the trip

I can’t wait for his acceptance speech at the Oscars when he wins for “best actor”

Ghandi never won the Nobel Prize but the sitting US President who has given a total of 3 speeches oversees and one to the UN WINS????

I do not have the time to get all wordy. In my humble opinion as someone who has hired you in the past and considers you a friend this is a joke. The slander that is revolving through the I Falls Cesspool of gossip is absurd.
Your professionalism, business acumen, all around good nature, and dang good stick is what gives you your reputation, thereby making the idea that you need to eliminate competition a serious but laughable situation, unfortunately in such a small setting those who are not “working” on the business end of things are usually those who are not as successful and cannot figure out why. It is those same individuals who will blame others for there own shortcomings.

Perhaps I will rename I Falls “Dallas”, “Falcon Crest” or simply “56649”

Sorry RD has it down pat. Lindy Rigging is not cool! I can see having to use it in 1972 when all you had was a old green Fish Lo Kator but with todays electronics and mapping software if you cannot find fish and not get them in the boat without a Lindy Rig or if you cannot judge when to set the hook you might as well go back to the kids pond behind the One Stop. Sure this is going to set some people off and I don’t care. If you are a full time Lindy Riggin guy REPENT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, my family and I will be arriving on late Sunday night. Are there any fish in the lake? What are people using? Where should we go? Is it easy to find our way around? I heard that all the fish were washed over the dam is this true?
    Any info would be appreciated
