Sorry folks! We had some technical difficulties, but it should be up and running now!
January 17, 2012 at 1:35 pm #1028892As of right now that’s up in the air. We’re waiting to first off hear that the fish are there, which they’re not quite yet. The next thing is that the ice is very rough getting there, which might make it even tougher to fish up there this year, and very expensive for the resorts (rough ice means tons of repairs to the bombers and houses getting torn up). We’re evaluating every factor right now and will make a determination at the end of the month. Thank goodness the fish are still holding in the bowl…
January 16, 2012 at 6:46 pm #1028528I love it BK! I’ll make sure to scream it from the mountain tops! Thank you for your endless support my friend…see you in the spring.

January 4, 2012 at 2:55 am #1024196To this point in my life there has been nothing greater a loss than losing my father, but yet at the same time nothing has made me stronger…the irony is puzzling.
This is what I’ll do for you…if you would like to choose so, Wigwam Resort will put you two up for two nights and I’ll take you fishing for a day free of charge. No promises as to the fish count, but I promise to do my best to give you a fun time to remember for many years. Give me a call on Thursday at the resort sometime after 3 PM and we’ll work out the details, if you would like.
Jody and I will say a prayer tonight…God Bless.

(800) 448-9260May 17, 2011 at 7:45 pm #966636I’d stick around the rocks right outside Zipple Bay in about 18 to 24 feet of water, especially if you’re staying right there. Normally we’re jig this time of year with shiners (live or dead), but we’ve been pulling spinners and Rapala’s already this year and whacking the Walleyes in 18 – 21 feet of water on the lake between Morris Gap and Lighthouse Gap, all along Pine Island. I think by this weekend most of the Walleyes will be in Four Mile Bay or the Lake. Last weekend we were catching only males in the river, which typically means most of the females are out in the lake hunkering down after their spawn. Fishing should be fantastic…best of luck!

February 11, 2011 at 3:40 pm #936557Doug and Kim will put you guys on the fish. For the perch you might have to get off the road with a few sleds and some portables and head north or west to the rocks (Rocky Point (west) or Knights, Bridges or Starren Shole (north)).
Best of luck and Happy Fishing!

March 17, 2010 at 12:27 pm #854431Well guys…I just received an e-mail this morning saying that 4 of the girls will be here, but only on Saturday night (March 20th). They felt so bad about the hole thing that some of the girls are still coming up…I’m sure things will work out.
Hope to see you all here!

<img src="/wpJanuary 21, 2010 at 6:54 pm #834805Right on…Right on…
Are you going to bring some of your buddies up that weekend?
October 1, 2009 at 6:30 pm #435789If you’re looking to come up…the end of October and the begining of November are very good for both Walleye and Sturgeon. We are just starting to see the Shiner run into the river, but with this cold front that gave us a visit the past few days, it would be great to hold off a few weeks to let the fishing get back to “top shelf” status.
Happy Fishing!!!!
July 30, 2009 at 5:33 pm #794334Don,
If this is not to late, you can bring your downrigging gear, but I don’t think you will need it as of right now…at least for the next week. We have not even dropped a downrigger and have been having amazing success up here this summer. We have been slow drifting…trolling…anchoring and jigging and slamming the Walleyes. If you’re interested in seeing how we are fishing on a daily basis, checkout my daily fishing report on our website at http://www.wigwamresortlow.com.
Once again, I have seen some people downrigging, but we at the Wigwam haven’t had to bust them out yet and we’re catching a ton of fish…just an fyi for you.
If you get up here, please swing in and introduce yourself. Best of luck on the hunt for the Walleyes!
Happy Fishing,
Jean-Paul Tessier

http://www.wigwamresortlow.comP.S. The picture that I’m attaching is from yesterday…they had a whole other cooler that they didn’t hang up…they were slow drifting and pulling jigs with frozen shinners up on the southwest side of Garden Island with our guides (Tom Briggs, Billy Kloos & Kevin Olmstead).
July 17, 2009 at 7:01 pm #791256If our buddies at the weather station are on this time…for once…we should be getting some very nice weather tomorrow and Sunday…mid 70’s and SUNNY! Have fun guiding…I will have a cold one for you BK…take care and happy fishing!
July 7, 2009 at 9:34 pm #788928I know some people that are currently fishing for them, but this was caught while fishing for Walleyes up by Garden Island…I’ve never seen one up there before…Lake of the Woods is filled with these monsters.

July 7, 2009 at 4:18 pm #788808The bit is still on…Lake of the Woods is the BEST FRESHWATER FISHERY IN THE WORLD!!!! If you don’t believe me just checkout our site for all the pictures…this happens each and every summer. It always amazes me at the number of fish caught (size and quantity) on Lake of the Woods. http://www.wigwamresortlow.com

May 21, 2009 at 2:17 am #778504Daily Fishing Report May 19th 2009: The weather today was excellent in the morning, but started getting a little breezy and we had a few scattered showers this afternoon, nothing like this weekend though. Weather conditions for tomorrow look like this…showers early then scattered thunderstorms developing late in the day turning warmer high of 69 with the wind out of the south to southwest in the morning shifting to northwest at 10 to 15 mph later on in the day with a 40% chance of rain. What this means is, if you’re not out early then you probably will be getting a little wet tomorrow. My sources are telling me that the heavier jigs are still doing the trick (½ oz to 1 oz)…the fish are on the bottom so you have to get there. I personally am still using a 3/8 oz jig, which does the trick for me. The colors that have been working are Chartreuse and Orange or even the combination of both…the bait of choice is still the frozen emerald shiners or live fat head and rainbow minnows. We are having the best success catching fish from 12 to 18 feet of water. We are fishing in Morris Bay and Four Mile Bay (right in front of the Wigwam) and having excellent success. I hope everyone has a great day of fishing tomorrow if you want to brave the weather…good luck and I look forward to hearing about your successes.
