Also looking for some info on eau Claire lake chain, I’ve been reading all the posts and getting as much information as I can, only fished it 2 summers ago when I rented air BNB, fishing wasn’t great but loved the water clarity and scenery and thought I would ice fish there once or twice and I will be in the area this week, I will mostly be fishing pike and walleye not a pan fish guy, I’ve lived in door county all my life and would be happy to exchange some info on walleye/whitefish/pike, I will report back with ice conditions later this week

I like these ones for door county whitefish, they are smallmouth bass #5, it’s a fleet farm exclusive color, my now goto bait, before it was the #5 craw, I’ve head to cut the fishes head open to get these things out on a few occasions as the whitefish litteraly swallowed the bait, and caught several in the 5 to 6 lb range on them

Just got the striker ice transporter bag, absolutely love it, can fit 6 tip up, 5 rods, showdown, rigid mini 18v radio and all my tackle, makes things much easier having everything in one spot and less clutter in the sled or machine, now question remains on longevity of this bag, I fish 5 to 6 times a week and I will put this bag through the ringer and only issue i have with it is the zippers, and that’s why I upgraded to this bag from last bag because zippers went to crap, so we will see how many years I can get out of it but other than that it’s a perfect bag for hardcore ice fisherman. I give it a solid A

I’ve been saying it for years and I will say it again ” fish don’t care what kind of boat you have ” I will catch just as many fish in my 1963 crestliner as I would if I had a 2017 ranger 621 period, but I bet that ranger would get there a little faster…

This is from summer 2016, one of the prettiest door county smallmouth I’ve ever caught, hammered a large suspended crank bait trolling for pike

It should be good for next two weeks or so,I wouldn’t advise truck travel anymore, pulling all permanent houses off today with all the snow melt going on, but for 4 wheelers travel and ice will be good for a while, still measured 27 inches of ice as of yesterday, fish were on fire, lawyers biting good also

They are driving trucks out all over the peninsula. There is 20 to 22 inches everywhere as of now with not a lot of snow, I’m out there 5 days a week or so, hope that helps you guys, feel free to ask questions anytime about sturgeon bay or door county as I have been a lifelong resident and hopefully could answer most of your questions the best I can

There is more cops in this town than anywhere in the state, very safe town, you should be just fine, just be careful driving back into town with to many adult beverages, I heard of a trailer being stolen in sherwood pt area a few weeks back, that’s the first time I ever heard something stolen ice fishing related in years

The white will bite on anything, I’ve tried cheese, banana peel, brat, strawberry, hamburger, piece of cardboard, bread, ham, dipped jigs in beer, whiskey, gas(for some reason they really like that) and hand sanitizer, when the bite is on it doesn’t matter what you throw at them, when it’s slow jigging rap absolutely no top hook which is just disrespectful to real white fishermen lol will fo the trick, just pound the bottom. Should be no problem for two guys to get 40 fish a day on a slow day, good days you should catch 60 or so, either way everyone will catch fish

Very impressive fishery, but looks likes anyone could catch them like that, impressive amount of trucks in the lot, that’s what stuck out the most to me, I pretty sure the fishery can handle it, most people I talk to say keep them Cuz if you don’t there Goin into the Nets anyways, as for mishandling of the fish I see the exact same thing with door county whitefish, everyone wants a limit, that’s all you here these days, did you limit out blah blah blah…..keeping everything is the norm to say you got your limit and people will keep doin so until law changes and people will keep coming more and more often until the fish are not there or limits go down, it’s hard to deal with at times and it gets me all worked up to but sometimes you just have to try and go about your business and not worry about what other are doing, the fish pigs are everywhere and will not chang
