Change the fuel filter which to is on the motor. Very easy to do and costs about $25 – $30 .
Kabetogama/Namakan as usual for me if the ice is out. I have fished there since before it was a National Park so I have seen a couple ice in openers.
The last time I got a forest service wood cutting permit it was $20 with a limit of one or two cords. Downed wood only of course. Not hard to locate a clear cut or a blow down.
Mine is a 2017 been perfect and I fish a lot. Now that I said that I am probably on borrowed time.
All you need to do is buy the dish tailgater, then take your dish receiver from home and your good to go.
Just got back from the Ash River trail. The water there is dropping fairly fast 2 to 3 inches a day. I was there for 10 days and the level was down 20″ in that time frame and seemed to be dropping more each day. I only fished three days and caught fish each day. The fish are scattered at all depths and still prefer minnows/leeches. Water temps are around 60 but I am sure rising with the warm weather.
I also have a Alumacraft Trophy. I had my travel cover made at Canvas Craft located just north of Rodgers Mn. On the way to Mille Lacs. Full snap down, very durable material. No issues at all with the workmanship. In 2016 I paid about $700 for a 18ft boat.
It probably helps to have been married for over 60 years and the wifes car sits for days w/o moving.
I have a 2019 wolverine on a trailer in my garage all winter. I unload the sxs back it into the garage and reload on the trailer inside the garage. So, I have the sxs and my truck in the garage and the wifes car outside all winter. The end of april the sxs goes north till the end of Nov.
Texsport makes a similar heater used in golf carts. I use one in my side x side during cold weather and in a single fish portable. It has lo med and hi settings. Amazon has them for $50.

I have fished it a few times. A very shallow lake may be 15′ tops. you can troll shallow diving baits and catch a mixed bag of fish. I concentrated on the crappies when I fished it. The lake had a number of dead heads from the logging days and I fished those by using a small safety pin type spinner with a small jig attached. Cast past the dead head letting the bait sink and reel in slowly past the log.
My 100 hr oil change light usually comes on in August. I just reset it and change oil at the end of September. So I guess about 120 to 130 hrs. I fish about 20 days a month and often run 30 Miles round trip.
I am 6’and I have to bend slightly under the top. It gives good protection from the elements.
I have the factory top, side curtains and stern and bow covers. I have had to replace the side curtains. This is on a 175 Trophy 2016. I also have had to do a repair on a snap on the center walk thru panel. The side curtains had a velcro strip sewn into the plastic window, the velcro attaches to one of the roof supports to give it support when the boat is under way. The sewing tore loose and was unrepairable. I think the factory canvas may be a little cheaper but I would price out a custom made set.
An articule on the internet says a possible boarder opening of June 22 may be in the works
put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel and turn the wheel the direction you want the boat to go.
Heading to Kabetogama/Namakan with two long time friends. We are all long retired and have done this trip many times. We’ll stay about a week.
I have a monthly car wash program with Mister car wash for unlimited washes. I run it through the wash several times a week and have for many years. I don’t wax them or use any rust proofing of any kind. I get many comments on how nice my trucks look. All I buy are F150’s. For Me frequent washing is the key.
You can still have 20 in possession so go out two days and you have your meal.
If you have ever been sitting in the bow seat on a windy day and had the wind blow the door closed on your back, you will want a clamp soon after.
Was on Medicine today and measured ice at 11.5″ on the north end. caught a few nice sunfish.
I have made venison bacon a few times. I buy a bacon cure from Frisco spices, it comes in hickory or maple flavors. Grind up 50% venison and 50% pork shoulder and mix in the cure and smoke.
