    Most of the guy’s I have talked to said it has been pretty slow up there since the big snow, now after the last couple of days who knows what the bite will be. Going to try it this weekend.

    Haven’t been up there yet after the snow, but everyone I have talked to said that you won’t be able to get on the lake with your truck or a 4 wheeler without getting stuck. Most of the guy’s say they have to walk out on the lake and that is a tuff job in it’s self with 24+ inches of snow.

    Just my two cents

    I just got the Humminbird ice 45 a few weeks ago and love it. The guy at Scheels said they are sell a boat load of the Humminbirds this year. The flat screen and the depth read out is nice. It’s very easy to use. Both products are good flashers.

    The wind is really blowing hard and about 6 to 9 inches here in NW Iowa. Just got out of the hot tub outside, it was a cold run to the house!!

    There can’t be a whole lot of ice left on Spirit is there? I got to say that it was the best winter i can remember for fishing on Spirit Lake. I’m gonna miss the ice!!

    It is my understanding that this is a Federal issue.

    A couple of questins for you;
    1. How old is the dog? If it is under a year and a half sometimes its hard to keep weight on a dog until they are full grown.
    2. How active is the dog?

    Also you might want to try a regular worming program, i know you said the vet said there is nothing wrong but sometimes they don’t know everything. You might also try a 26/18 dog food (18% fat and 26% protien). Always look to make sure corn in not the first ingredient you want to see something like chicken or a meat base. There are a lot of good dog foods out there but they are not cheap!!

    Sounds like your having a lot of quality time with your son. This is the first year on the ice for my 9 year old son and myself also and we are HOOKED!! I think we have been at Big Spirit almost every weekend since the first week in Jan. The fishing has been great and the time spent with him has been priceless.

    I’ve been training and raising Weimaraners for the last 10 years. I’m a little bias but they make great dogs, a few things to look for 1. Bloodlines 2. Temperment 3. Hips, eyes, 4. Size of parents. Over the years there have been too many backyard breeders give them a bad name because they bred the hunt out of them. I use mine every weekend of hunting season and they are all family pets. If you do end up getting one you need to be the boss!! Expect to pay $800 to $1000 for a good one from a quality breeder, but if you own the dog for 10 to 12 years its not that bad.

    I was reading on one of your posts that you removed your seats from you Fishtrap guide. Do you still have them and would you sell them?
