I don’t get down to Judson very often. Typically I am around shakopee, jordan, savage, belle plaine.
I bet I know who it is though. He runs an outboard jet though not an inboard.

They’re probably a bit of an overkill for P2, P3, etc. But on the Minnesota, there’s a lot more lumber, rock, etc. that I don’t want sneakin up on me at 45 mph at 2 AM.

DTRo is running his tournament to inflate his own ego,
mfreeman451…..that’s pretty funny right there. DTRO is putting on a 100% payout tournament that was requested by the membors of his site. It’s put on through a free website with no advertisement obligations and no product pimping….
But yet somehow it’s about his ego. Pretty funny.
Both contests have their limitations and both will go a long way to promote catfishing.
It sounds like 4 Seasons has done a good job responding to comments and will run a fun and succesful tournament.
I am also sure the event on P2 will also be successful. Both events are being run by guys who are advocates for the fishery and I wouldn’t think twice about fishing either.
Now put your money up and go fish!!
BK,
I love these that are on my boat now…..but they sure irritate the shore guys when I come down river….
9 inch 35 watt ProComp HID’s
I have had 3 of these things in my boat over the years…..
The first one was the worst. I tried to hold the line above my swivel to just leave the thing hanging for a photo. I turned my head toward the camera and next thing I knew it had wrapped itself up the line and around my arm.
I screamed like a little girl…
I haven’t seen one in a couple years. But I think that’s mostly due to the fact that we fish more with shad and less with crawlers now. All the ones I have seen caught were all on crawlers…..and usually if there are eel biting there are mudpuppies being caught as well.
WOT – wide open throttle (anyone with a boat should know that one…..)
MIMI – no friggin idea what that means. I assume from context that it is referring to a specific vessel that came too close.
WWG – wastewaterguru (that would be me!)
I just got a L.E.D flashing yellow strobe light that plugs into the cig lighter. I got it at northern tool.
I don’t care how close a boat comes (as long as he isn’t running over my anchor or my lines) as long as they slow down.
Boats that come flying between anchored vessels during the day don’t scare me too bad……they just irritate me.
Boats that come right at you at night at WOT and don’t even start to turn until you hit them with a spotlight scare the crap out of me. Almost everytime out there it happens at least once where a boat is just flying and has no idea your even there……
I can’t even begin to recap all the close calls because there are just too many to list.
My suggestion is always keep a handheld spotlight within reach. It has saved my butt a couple times. Plus it will make it easier to get the boat numbers that way.
Nice work BK. I hope we see the Sheriff out there.
Here is our top 6 fish for our boat……..
John’s 55 to start the weekend off on Thursday in the bay…
Dan’s 62 incher from Friday in the bay.
Dan’s 63 incher Friday in front of Wigwam….
Mike’s 61 incher down from Clementson on Saturday…..
Mike’s 58 incher down from Clementson on Saturday…..
John’s 50 incher Saturday evening down from Clementson….
Had we signed up we would have taken 2nd and 3rd. That will teach me.
Great to see the newbies in my boat get on fish. Brian we caught 3 of our big ones on Saturday about 3 miles or so down from where we saw you…….
None of the guys I know. There are quite a few guys that frequent the upper miss that have the low-pro’s.
Was it a hipro or a lopro??
I put in some time last year and the year before……
I can’t seem to stay up on the leaderboard, but I sure had a great time on the water anyway.
I’ll be there…..
….Plus two buddies from Indiana that saw too many photos from the last couple years to miss it again.
Yep, nice fish. I think I had a dream about that coming into my boat the other night.
It’s my turn next time Marc…….
Larry, pretty sweet. I would assume the orange tint to the water is due to the fact that the outside spigots are not routed through your softener and therefore there is significant iron in the water due to the fact that all the south of the river suburbs are exclusively on well water. It won’t affect the fish at all.
Pretty sweet set up and I am still in progress on mine. The biofilter in for my tank used the carpet padding successfully for all of last year but had to be trashed at the end of the season. I am looking for a material that is a little more “cleanable”. I did get a little foaming initially from the glue used to stick all the individual patches of the padding together….but it went away after a couple weeks and didn’t seem to cause any casualties to my bait. The biofilter probably isn’t doing much at 60 to 65 degree water temps anyway. They really start to work great at that mid 70’s mark. Bullheads can handle the warmer temps as long as those nitrates are being converted to nitrites….and hopefully eventually to Nitrogen gas if there are some anaerobic zones in the filter (which there naturally shoud be).
Pretty sweet setup though…..wouldn’t be much of a stretch to get that garden elevated and convert that whole deal into an aquaponic vegie garden.
Aanderud,
The ones I caught all my fish on last summer were 7/0 Eagle Claw Kahle’s.
That is the perfect size for legal bait. I keep one rod rigged with a 9/0 or 10/0 for the “almost” legal bait.
WWG and Aanderud on the road in a few minutes.

Yep…I am working hard this morning.
Or…..you could buy a new one already to go.
The SS CatQueen is on the auction block.

I think someone is overcompensating………..
I think I am going out to buy a new corvette after seeing that net.
Maybe buy a year supply of Enzyte to boot……
See y’all on Saturday!!!
Larry I think it just seems that way since I get it out so often. I sure am glad I wasn’t in my little 14 footer.
BTW we got a couple carp and a whitebass. Not exactly worth the pain of the situation…
It wasn’t life threatening at any point. Just didn’t like leaving my baby on the river.
I just want to get back out and fish that area now that all the ice is gone.
It’s always an adventure when I’m in the boat.
My college roomate said I humped a carp once.
I thought her mouth looked a little funny. Must have been the Wild Turkey…
We’ve all had those nights……..Right?????
Maybe just me!
There are still fish to be found, but the dropping water levels are making it interesting. Was out the last three days and have found fish in different places each time.
Pug,
Are you currently involved with a married woman????
That happens to be a 5 foot 2 inch blonde that told you her husband was supposed to be going fishing tonight……and then called you back and said she told her husband she had to work late so she could meet you..???
I suppose she could actually have to work………..
This morning she tells me I can do whatever tonight…….
Then she calls me at 2 PM and tells me she was thrown a big project at work today and won’t be home till late tonight……so I have the kids.
No fishing for me tonight….maybe tomorrow though.
Give me a call Darren if still interested.
Was out Saturday and as Dave said, we released a 61″ fish around 4 PM and managed around 20 for the day. The morning was absolutely dead, but the bite picked up significantly at around 2PM to 2:30.
I’d like to get an eel or two.
Wind looks to be the issue for tomorrow. It might take a 40 pounder for me to be able to detect a bite.
It wasn’t me.
I was with Gary when he took that picture.
This was the middle of the river at right before the first bend going down from the Shakopee launch at the campground.
This guy looked a little intoxicated to say the least.
BTW-thanks for the compliments guys. I don’t have that much hair.
