I bought a 2010 1860 angler early spring 150 etec test drove skeeters and anglers and I have fished out alot of other different boats. These boats with 150 yamahas were very slow out of hole and would not hold plane at low speed very well the etec is much faster out of the gate and holds plane at low speeds very well and I have been out in very rough water and never got wet nothing against yamaha but their is a big difference in these motors.Another thing to consider is resale a look up what resale on the boats are.I would now never own anything but a ranger these boats are very well built BUY THE RANGER!!!

I would buy the Etec you wont be disappointed alot of people are Etec Bashers and most of them have never owned one and are Yamaha owners.Talk to people who have them they all make good motors and all have some problems sometimes its really just preference good luck on your decision.

Yes I checked the fuses and the batteries were fully charged when I put them back into my boat I still had the red light. Thanks for your response. Is there anyway I could have hooked it up wrong? The last time I was on the river I had to pull out one battery to start my motor the starter battery died but I hooked it up the same way it was it dont seem that complex but you never know.Maybe if someone had a diagram of how they should be hooked up in a series to be positive it is right.

Is it just a T or a T valve? I have heard of air getting sucked in and blowing a motor without a shut off valve.

What length snell seemed to work best?I was fishing that same day we had a little less luck but tried both methods led was slow but live bait with crawlers was a bit better.
