there were fish there that were from 12 to 30 plus inches lots of 22to 26 inch fish i saw a couple that were certainly in the 13 to 14 pound range

if you dont want to travel to red i would try cutfoot , bowstring, sand has some nice crappies although i think less in numbers , leech has some huge crappies if you can find them and a small lake just west of winnie called portage is a good place its small and has nice crappies also good walleyes when too windy on winnie try the west shore for crappies !

i guess you couldnt get much more portable than the new smartcast rf20 and rf30 , one is a wristwatch with a transducer that hooks to your line and the other aone that hooks to your pole and a casting transducer , how cool is that if they work they say there good from 100 ft and a 100 ft depth range and a 400 hr transducer charge also they have a couple other units that work with these transducers , i believe they will work with any matrix series hummingbird systems
