At her age she’s likely teething. They don’t like picking things up because it hurts their mouth. Just keep sessions short and upbeat, use a softer retrieving device, or work on other things like obedience.

Try Propane Express in Savage. They had a bunch of 40’s there last time I refilled mine.
I bought the lifetime sports and archery licenses right before I moved to ND for a year in 2013. It will take quite a few years before they start “saving” me money, but the only way it’s not a good deal is if you quit hunting/fishing or you die. I don’t plan to quit and if I die early I don’t think I’ll care that much.
The 2 zones I hunt are up 26% and 44% from last year’s total harvest and we still have muzzleloader and the rest of archery season yet. I’ve been seeing more deer this year than the past few years but hopefully the higher harvest this season doesn’t mean slim pickings next year. Time will tell.
Edit – looked at the wrong chart for previous years harvest. Looks like both zones are right about last years total harvest so we will only see a slight uptick after muzzy and remainder of bow season. But I have been seeing alot more deer than previous years.
I just emailed UFlex a few days ago and they told me the Yamaha system wouldn’t be on the market until the end of this month. I’m thinking hard about getting that setup for my 115 Yamaha when its available.
I had a decoy carved for a portion of my last dog, Maggie’s ashes who passed away about a year ago. I brought the decoy out once last season on a solo hunt where it was just myself and my young dog, Lindy. I intend to continue the tradition once each fall.
I’ve got a 2000t with a 24v system and have never felt under powered. If the wind is really bucking I just use the big motor. I don’t fish the river much anymore but if I still did I’d want a 36v system.
Matt, do you need to use the spot lock to hold the boat steady? I’m thinking if parked on a shallow wind blown rock reef throwing baits into deep water. Just wondering if it holds pretty well. I’m assuming you would need to keep the bow into the wind no matter how you were using it.
Do you have a 18′ or 20′ tiller?
I have a wx2000t. I just let the front end swing around so that the rear of the boat faces into the wind. If the bottom is really rocky and the waves are big I don’t use it so it isn’t coming up a couple feet and slamming down hard. One area it struggles is if the wind or current is pushing towards deeper water. Sometimes it will slide a little depending on bottom composition and will end up sliding into deeper water if you don’t notice and readjust right away.
I’ve got a 12′ talon on my Skeeter tiller. I’ve only had it on there for one season and I already know I’ll never own another boat without one. It takes a bit to get used to the bow swinging around when you drop it but you learn to anticipate it and position yourself. Once it swings around it pretty much settles into place unless you have a shifty wind or different wind/current directions. Between the talon and i-pilot I haven’t touched an anchor in years.
I live in Le Center, MN and work in Shakopee. Willing to meet in the South metro about anywhere.
Finally got all the supplies and some spare time this morning and got it mounted up.
I’ve already done that measurement since Minn Kota lists the overall height on their website. I have a 7′ door and the 10′ talon will fit as is. The 12′ would be about 4″ too tall if I remember correctly. I don’t want to mess around with a tilt bracket (won’t work well with splash guards and I’m bound to forget about it) so I’ve decided to sacrifice 2′ and go with the 10 footer.
If it doesn’t work out for either of the 2 guys above me I’d take the cover for $100. I also have a WX2000t.
The under floor access is mostly for fuel tank access but there is some storage space. I keep a 28 lb navy anchor in there that’s rarely used.
There is room for 2 batteries side by side in the rear. You can also find room for a power steering pump. There is alot of space on either side of the batteries. I attached a pic of mine. I still need to clean up my wiring…
Just make sure you have plenty of garage space. I recently went through this and ended up with alot more house than I needed since the starter homes didn’t have enough garage for a 20′ boat (I only had a 16′ boat at the time but knew I’d be upgrading soon). I never thought I’d fill up that 3 stall garage by myself but it didn’t take long.
I sure like mine too. Steering is pretty easy, you could darn near let go of the tiller when you are up on plane. My only complaint is not being able to troll down to 2.0-2.2 for lead core trolling without using a sock or troll plate. I’m leaning towards adding a kicker to mine.
The layout is great for fishing and storage space is amazing. Even enough room for some fetch when the fishing is slow!
I was interested until I read you are located near Chicago. Do you ever make it up towards Minnesota?
I had a sonic hub setup in my last boat when I had Lowrance units. I used a Fusion Bluetooth module to stream Pandora from my android phone. The Bluetooth module plugged into the red and white auxiliary inputs if I remember correctly.
Thanks guys. We ended up settling on a price even lower than what’s listed. I thought it was very fair for both parties. The outboard did have 465 hours on it and overall condition of the boat was probably a little below average for a 3 year old boat due to the amount of use it has seen. Can’t wait to finish rigging the new WX2000T now and get that one on the water.
PRICE REDUCED TO $16400! I picked up my new rig from Skeeter Boat Center this weekend and my garage is full!
Here’s my new rig. I will pick it up in about a week and still have to rig it. Gonna be a big step up from the 16′ Aluminum tiller I have now. After getting beat up on Big Stone today in the aluminum boat I’m really looking forward to running a 20′ glass boat.
