Not to rehash, but I just found this one. Just cleaning up my ice gear stash, thinking of selling some stuff off. I have a few extra transducers around, in the box. I opened the tri-beam and found this. The thing was used in one tournament lol. Guess I should have opened it sooner.

My vote is the Power Noodle. My tournamnt partner and I can come up with about 20000 compelling reasons to use it lol.

Seriously though, there are a few great rod makers out there as well as designs. The Power Noodle fits our style of fishing. A combination of tip watching, line watching with a little bit of feel mixed in.

I know this is a bit old but check out the Sonic Ice Hopper from Sportsmanship Direct. It is by far the best way to hole hop with a flasher.

    Erie, Winnipeg, Superior.
I was looking at a map; Winnipeg is bigger than Erie. Surprised me.

They are close, but Erie is still bigger actually.

Awesome fish….congratulations! I see that you did well on the chrome blue jigging rap. we’re you guys able to get any fish going on the rattle baits at all? I am hoping to get over ther for a few days this week. It’s going to be my first time on the ice there and I can’t wait!

I just checked the weather and see that the wind will be predominately from the south for Friday and Saturday. Not a big fan of offshore winds on Great Lakes ice. Any thoughts…

We are looking at giving it a try in Friday and Saturday. Likely return again the following weekend too. We have never been over there on the ice. How safe is it for ATV travel out there for first timers? Have seen videos of machines that have gone through cracks from last years great season and get paranoid. Any tips on what we should have in our kit for travel out there?

    Thanks!

It is called a Water Scorpion. Mean looking buggers. I have heard it referred to as a hatchet bug or something like that too. I found one once while open water fishing and was stumped. I had to bring it in and have it identified. They are apparently quite common, though I am happy to say I have never met another one!
