When alone I have a rope that I connect to the bow. I back in till I am able to unhook the winch strap. I then take the rope connected to the bow and run the other end back to a post on the dock. I use a couple half hitches to tie it up. Bury the trailer and as the boat floats off I pull the truck to a parking spot. Get to the dock pull your boat up and jump in. It obviously doesn’t work well if busy or very windy.

I replaced my Shorelander this spring. Northern tool had a couple in stock. Ended up with a round axle but that only meant I needed brackets for the springs that I didn’t need with the original. About $60.00 they were having a sale so I saved 15% on everything.

February 29, 2004 at 9:24 pm #294628I have never run out of power yet. If you think you need that much juice you should hook a second battery in parallel then you will have enough for an entire weekend on a single charge. I have run my autopilot 55# all day and still had plenty of power left. I have a 27 series Exide nautalis gold. Bought new last year at cabelas. Only way I could see you running out of power would be on river in heavy current. Scott
February 29, 2004 at 3:18 pm #294573Jack, yes it came with a trailer 1400# Shorelander. Have not had the need for a second bilge. I have added a second battery in the transom for aft troller,so have a jumper set up should the need arise. I at this time dont have an onboard charger. I have been looking at diffrent brands trying to get a good idea of which one to buy. Have no experiance with them as this is my first real boat.
Hope this helps Scott.February 28, 2004 at 4:07 pm #294540Hi Jack, I am also the proud owner of a 03’1650V Rebel / 30Hp four stroke EFI Merc. I paid $6999.00 It has been a very nice boat thus far. I did add a few little extra’s. A plug in,in the bow for a trolling motor. A light in the live well. Also put in a diffrent livewell switch with a timer on it. I think you will really like your boat. They handle the bigger water just fine.. Scott

January 7, 2004 at 11:12 pm #287786The loads run about $6.00 – 7.00 A box. The most youll get out of a 2 3/4″ is 1 1/8 oz Even then you really have to cram it in there. The loads we shoot are 2 3/4″ 1 oz #3 shot. They pattern very well. I did read somewhere that the Italian guns dont pattern fast steel very good but I have standard chokes and they pattern excellent. I don’t remember where my papers are but I think it was like 87% in a 30″ circle at 40yds. I do know that the 835 mossbergs do pattern this stuff the best. I think it’s because there factory backbored? If you look into reloading steel, please get a book. All of our loads are hand poured we dont use the reloader for dropping powder or shot. The pressures are at pretty high levels. You also need special wads. We do use AA hulls,Alliant steel powder,.

June 30, 2002 at 4:41 pm #229854Just an idea but if you go to C-Net.com you can look at all the user reveiws from Cameras to PC’s. They let you know what cameras are good for outdoor or better for indoor pics. Also some cameras go through batteries very fast. You also will likely want a camera that works from a USB port for downloading vesus a serial port much, much faster. Just my $0.02 worth

July 21, 2001 at 4:03 pm #231848Carp chaser, one of my favorite summer baits is a small jigging rap. You can catch a crappie about every minute when you sit on top of them and vertical jig. I always carry my ice jig box in the boat for pansy’s. Give it a try need no bait ( thats the best part) Scott!!
July 21, 2001 at 3:47 pm #231847Make sure you check the (lips) on the baits. I heard someone was selling a buch of raps that had bent lips from sitting in hot open boat & they wouldn’t run straight. Hope thats not the case but might take a look before you mix them in with the rest of your gear. Scott!!
July 20, 2001 at 2:49 am #231808Thanks for the info. I think I will try and get out Fri. Will take a small section at a time. Went and looked at the accesses tonight. The access in Dayton is in rough shape after the high water lots of sand 1-2′ of sand at the end of pilings. No new tracks there either the one at Elk River park is in good shape. There were 3 trailers there tonight! Will post my results when I get done. Thanks again, can always count on good info from people on this site!!! Scott
July 15, 2001 at 10:11 pm #231542Just a note! Cabelas carries all of Minnkota’s factory reconditioned motors. I use to work for Minnkota and have had several factory seconds. Never had any trouble & they still carry normal warranty.
