I checked a few spots today and I found from 2-6″ of ice. Going to hit it hard this weekend!

Been catching some crappies and BIG walleye up in the Bow Creek Arm. Don’t be afraid to go up as far as the “Kiln” either. Crappies have been running on the small side though…….For every 20 you catch, you might get one over 10″. Lots of big eyes though. Jigs tipped with minnows has been the ticket!

    Good Luck!

couple falls ago, that is all we could catch trolling for eyes! But then again, the lake looked like chocolate milk.

18 keepers in one weekend, 12 dozen crawlers gone, 2 dozen jigs gone, sunburn, one hell of a fish fry, having the family along to share the moment…PRICELESS !!!!!

Did you catch them on the new hair jigs? Sounds like you had a good time!

Some buddies caught a bunch last weekend in 36-42′ over a stump field. They said the water temp was low 40’s and that they found no fish shallow yet! They didn’t even see any in the brushpiles with the StructureScan.

The wildlife viewing was pretty awesome but the fishing kinda stunk! Little ones and MORE little ones. Matt eyes like a hawk, we wouldn’t have probably seen half of what we did if he wasn’t with us! He should have taken pictures of Shawn trying to rip the head off the dead Whitetail Buck he noticed up laying in the weeds. I get my new Lowrance units installed over the winter and I’ll have to spend more time over there with the downscan!

Does anyone know of any good places to fish other than the tailraces? I am working up there and have 3-4 hours a night to kill. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There is a nice little lake in Columbus. Not sure where it is but have seen the reports on other forums. Also, Fremont lakes is only about 40 miles or so east and there is decent fishing in there.

Something else I will add to what Ben is telling you is that when you do the Antenna update, if it don’t work you’ll have to send it to Lowrance and get a new Antenna. Ben helped me a while back update my units and they have changed something in the older 2000 pucks and you’ll have to get it replaced! I sent it to Lowrance and they sent me a new updated one free of charge!

Talked to Brian earlier and he said the water temp was 45 degrees. I sure hope the parties involved in letting the air out of his trailor tires yesterday stayed away today! They won’t like B when he’s angry!!!!!!!!!!!

We drove over the dam again the other day and it looks still froze. Some open water up the lake further. Maybe the next few days will open her up. Or you could throw in your sledge hammer like walleye4 did.

Hey, when you put the hurt on some fish like we did that day, busting ICE for 4 hrs is well worth it!

Hey, that wall in the background looks familar B!

Glad to see you were able to get on some fish. Don’t think I’ll make it back down to try it again, heading to KS this week.

Yup, I went with Dane but this could have happened sooner if I would have had someone to go then. Wish you could have been there with us B! It was a load of fun!

No takers…………Guess that’s too bad cause I sure did have fun today. Caught a bunch of wipers and crappies today. Biggest wiper was 6# and the biggest crappie was 2# 3oz and 15 1/4″ long.

The material is almost like a what a tent is made out only lighter. I basically just laid the rod on the material and used a yard stick to make the cuts and then sewed it together. !st couple took me awhile to get it right but can make one pretty quick now. I have 2 weeks off starting next week and am going to make up a bunch of them and see what they bring on eBay.

Made it out again yesterday and had a buddy from KS with me. Along with his son, we ended up with 2 limits of walleye and 6 crappie. Fished out of our waders in the morning then went out in the boat for the afternoon. Fishing was pretty good for the most part. We caught roughly 50 walleye and 50 crappie. Caught more short walleye this trip than the previous 4 trips together.

Oh man BK, them eyes were tasty! I been fishing from my waders and not really sure how deep I been fishing. I been throwing some homemade jigs and getting them. I went again today and caught tomorrow’s dinner. Got 4 today from 16″-21 1/2″. Them were the only ones I caught today. Going to let them relax for a few days and then hit them again this weekend.
