I had anaplasmosis in my late 20s. It was the sickest I have ever been with anything. It was also mis diagnosed Or undiagnosed for over a week. I too had a lumbar puncture to test for bacterial meningitis. I was extremely sick for nearly a month. Even after getting the correct diagnosis and starting doxycycline it took about 10 days to get mostly better. I hope your father has a quick recovery.
I always did well by traveling light and walking a lot. Some of the places people use air boats to access can also be accessed on foot with some effort and research. Be careful and use a spud bar. Avoid current. Be prepared to strikeout sometimes but it is worth it when you find a bunch of perch, gills, or crappies and have them all to yourself. There are also a lot of very easy to access areas that people don’t seem to fish a lot.
I don’t know if you trout fish but winter trout season is unbelievable all around that area. And you are almost certain to not see another person all winter if you avoid the few popular streams.

I never knew there were so many woke people on IDO.The same guys that approve of all these sissy boys playing girl dress up and allow men in women’s sports. And try to tell children they can choose there own sexual identity at a young impressionable age. It’s easy to see there opinion gives 0 value. Sad day when someone isn’t proud of where they came from and what color they are. Or to tell 7 or old Timmy he can be Tammy if he wants. Same people who when you go to the store they have to wear they them name tags like any one gives a crap if they are queers or not.
I think there was a misunderstanding of who these “woke” people are. There are a lot of emotional, opinion based statements, especially on topics of race and gender being brought up here. It all seems to fit the definitions of woke that IDO members came up with previously. I am surprised no one had an issue with the suggestion of flag burning earlier in this dissertation.
“Idaho’s laws on wolves and Minnesota’s are quite different. Let’s not confuse the two here”. Prior to 2011 there was no season wolf season in Idaho . At that time we all were on the same page . Then it was turned over to the state to manage . When politics and inaction prevent particularly dangerous animals from being regulated , you can bet people will take matters into their own hands especially when it comes to protecting what’s theirs. The wolf right now is not regulated in Wisconsin and having their way with livestock , pets and whitetail deer . One study showed an adult wolf ate 27 deer in one year . Does not take long to decimate a white population or Elk population . There are areas in Wyoming that are completely wiped out of some high country elk herds . They had killed elk and never feed on them . They practice kill to train their pups. The precious elk reintro in Wisconsin also has felt the insatiable appetite of wolves . There was a point in the introduction when there was zero growth in the herd because wolves were killing pregnant cows. Major donors to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation were considerably upset to find out the Elk were being slaughtered , the same elk that cost millions to establish and monitor. The state of Wisconsin currently regulates every animal and fish that calls it home here ! Except for Canis lupus , that is just not right period .
I guess you are reaching now to make pro-poaching argument seem acceptable. I just hope you don’t hunt or fish anywhere near me.

Thats funny cause IDAHO has a 1000 dollar bounty on them right now ! Hmmm is that getting paid to poach ? Or is it a response to an out of control wolf population ?Idaho’s wolf season is continuous. There is no open or closed season dates. So technically as long as you have a tag, you can hunt a wolf there, as it stands right now. It’s essentially like hunting coyotes here.
Walleye216 is specifically referring to the rules/laws governing wolves here in MN. There is no legal season at this time.
Idaho’s laws on wolves and Minnesota’s are quite different. Let’s not confuse the two here.
Exactly, I am in favor of legal hunting and fishing. I would like a legal wolf harvest season in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I am not going to become a poacher or advocate for others to poach because I don’t like the laws.
When people openly advocate for poaching of one animal, I am very concerned what other hunting or fishing regulations they are willing to violate when they think know one is watching.

Ok, got it now. Poaching wolves is ok because many people do it or support it.Lol if that’s the way you see it ? Thats funny cause IDAHO has a 1000 dollar bounty on them right now ! Hmmm is that getting paid to poach ? Or is it a response to an out of control wolf population ?
Good for Idaho. So you propose we follow the laws of the states that we choose and not the laws of the state we are in? Idaho also allows unlimited walleye harvest in some waters. Do you do that in Minnesota or Wisconsin?
Ok, got it now. Poaching wolves is ok because many people do it or support it.
The simplest solution is to just shoot them without getting caught.
When enough people do that it helps a lot. Wisconsin.
You wont exterminate them. (?) They will still be present but much less competition for the deer. They dont deserve to be at historic numbers because People have taken up the space.
I wonder what else you are poaching if you are promoting the poaching of wolves.
I am surprised by the lack of support for our law enforcement. The guy was refusing to follow commands of law enforcement and could have avoided all this by just listening. I have read it many times here that people should just follow commands of law enforcement.
This seems pretty simple. If the person would have complied with law enforcement he would not have been tased. The video shows him attempting to flee law enforcement and resisting. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes.
I don’t agree with government handouts or redistribution of money. This is almost as bad as the people who work summer jobs and collect unemployment welfare for months each year.
I live in a rural area. The average Sheriff’s response time on weekends and nights is greater than 20 minutes, and usually more. Like riverrat says, most crime out here is property crime. But when you consider who the perps are, addicts, you never know how nutz they’ll become when caught/cornered. Thus, following the boy scout motto, I’m prepared. Prepared strategically, but more importantly, prepared mentally. If my family’s safety is threatened, I don’t expect to have the luxury to think things over in the heat of battle. If a perp enters my home unlawfully and there is even a hint of menace coming from him, it’s over. I will not allow the anti’s to dictate the safety of my family. If they want to kum-buy-yah with their invaders, that’s their choice. My family comes before their social agenda.
Not thinking things over during the moment seems like a pretty bad idea. Few good things happen when people shoot now and think later.
I only read page 1 but you people are running more scared than the people lookin to break in for a quick score. I’ve been on this rock for 55 yrs in the metro and will never own nothing but shotguns, that are locked up. No wonder kids are getting their little fingers on guns…
I agree with this statement. I can’t imagine going through life so scared of the world around me.
That doesn’t sound paranoid at all. Glad you put that senior citizen in her place.
There should be no closed fishing seasons but extensive catch and release seasons for all species including panfish.
Free speech is free speech, whether you like it or agree with it, but when it stops being only speech and becomes a violent action is where I have a problem with it. Call me cynical, but I wish people that do stuff like this would just shoot themselves instead and leave everybody else alone.
Having said that, we’ve been stifling just about every outlet kids have for so many years that I truly believe we’ve fostered a generation that only knows one way of expressing anger. It started when they outlawed “Dangerous” recreation like King of the Hill and Dodgeball, then progressed into “use your words, not your fists, Johnny”. Then, we moved onto where everybody is EQUAL (in ALL THINGS), and got participation awards, could “be” whatever they identified as, and use whatever bathroom they feel like. There is no definate black and white, everything is a shady gray and wishy-washy these days. Kids are being indoctrinated to be confused, and with little to no aggression relief valves their energy pents up until they explode. Not an excuse, just a simple observation..
This has to be it. Not playing enough dodgeball made this guy a racist murderer.
I won’t be surprised if he is schizophrenic.
Possible but more likely a cluster B personality disorder. This is consistent with antisocial personally disorder. Either way he needs to pay for what he has done.
I never said I don’t appreciate roads or similar infrastructure. The people who work on those things should be paid appropriately while they are doing that work. I don’t agree with people collecting unemployment as a career choice year after year. There are plenty of employers that hire seasonal help in the winter too.
I have a difficult time with the idea of stating a career where a government handout for 4 months is part of the equation. That government handout over the course of a career will add up to significantly more than paying off many people’s student debts. I am not in favor of people living off the government in either situation. People should work for their money and if they don’t work in the winter they should not be getting paid.
Seems like a decent opportunity for someone who wants a few paid months off every winter. Like others have said, it is hard finding people who want work. There are many job opportunities making great money and working all year for it.
AGAIN – media
If we could get straight and consistent answers and see our leadership actually at trying to do this there would be a lot less resistance. The messages are too many, too varied and too contradictory. The hospital situations already outlined are accurate. Have a similar circumstance in our family.
As for social media all are absolutely correct. They are controlling the message, that should be patently clear to anyone – way too many instances that have gotten thru to not believe this. If you believe social media you are getting exactly what you deserve as you are helping to fuel the fire.
A niece does not want to get the vaccine because the “govt can track her?!” Honey, you have an iphone, that ship has already sailed.
That is just wrong and keeps the “division” mantra in place and going strong.
This is clearly a strong topic for an outdoor thread and I have participated more than I should but feeling the stress like everyone else on here.
I agree, there is a lot of misinformation posted on this social media site.
Most guys I know that $hit on fishing in Canada are coincidentally the same guys that can’t legally cross the border.
I have noticed the same thing.
So we have one thread here about listening to authority and complying with laws or face a knee to the neck. Now this thread implying we should not comply with authority or follow the mask mandate.
In one case we are sheep and the other we are criminals?
I wish I could have my cake and eat it too.
Drug addition and criminal activity is a real issue for some Americans. There is nothing good about death, but hopefully the death of this criminal and drug addict can draw attention to the problem and help so that others do not follow the same path. RIP
There will come the day that Eagles will be regulated again. They went from being very rare in Minnesota to being able to see them about anywhere.
Control doesn’t = extermination. The Wolf population needs controls just like the Deer herds do.
I agree with some control. What I don’t agree with is the excuse that people cannot manage their own pets so we must kill wolves. I am a dog owner in wolf country and I understand that I am responsible for my animal. When people want to kill wolves because they are too lazy or irresponsible to properly care for their dogs, I have a problem with that.

Which is great unless you livestock or pets.
Just like many others, I am far too irresponsible and lazy to take care of my own pets. How can I be expected to be responsible for my dog? The feds should delist eagles also. A neighbor of mine had an eagle come right into his yard and kill and eat koi from his koi pond. There is no way Americans should have to be responsible what what they own.
