    Wrote Ardisam. Different sized shafts so tough to interchange. Will probably get a 10” composite. See how it performs and if satisfied sell propane.

    I found an old spoon auger on our farm. It work great getting deeper than my post hole digger(shovel type)to set some poles as fence posts. For ice, no way.

    Those spoon augers were just short of useless after 4-6″.A pick axe would of been less work.

    I have extensions, extra blades(new), etc. for the propane. The propane is quite heavy, so looking at e40 in 10” also. I’m also not sure of composite vs steel in heavy ice. I’m drilling through 24” now. 3 winters ago over 40”.
    I also like the reverse on the e40.
    Sometimes I fish up in Manitoba near The Pas. Ice very thick there.
    So looking at all options.

    Interested. Where are you located? No heater I assume? Is this a 3 hole house? Finally, if 3 hole do you think a fourth can be added easily.
