There should be 3 short beeps when initially turning key on to tell you the system is working. Here is 3 possible problems. 1. Low oil level in the injection system. 2.the oil injection pump may have failed or 3.the water seperating fuel filter is full of water. Here is a couple things you can look at. Take off your top cowl & from the front of the engine you will see a small black box with a red light on it.Turn the key switch to the ON position & check to see if the red warning light is on.If the light is on, the water seperating filter is full of water.Drain or best option is discard & replace. Also check oil level in the engine mounted oil reservoir tank.If the oil level is not to the top of tank, the problem is low oil level. There is a float on there that sends a warning signal if low oil levels become present.Another thought is make sure the cap on main oil reservoir is tight & engine mounted tank is SNUG. Make sure to not over tighten the engine mount reservoir cap if you remove it,or you can crack it which makes a mess in the engine. Hope this might help.

Its about 1 mile S of hwy 48 & 2 miles East from Cumberland. Relatively small 200acre,deep 55’& clear. I havent been there yet this season to know whats happening, but it puts out some very nice largie’s with very good numbers. I have a seasonal site a couple miles from there & if my kids want to bass fish it would be our #1 pick of lakes in the area. This pick comes in above Long & Red Cedar, unless your possibly chasing smallies. Shallow sandy landing area,be cautious of cars coming around curve too fast as its right where the landing is.You should do well here. Good luck.

I would put a hookless lure out on the pond tied to some heavy braid on a rod & wait him out. When he grabs the lure & flies off straighten his neck out for him. He will think twice before coming back.

Tim stated it was his first sturgeon & I beleive it made a lasting impression on him. It may also be tough to beat, but there are fish I have had others bring boatside on Wissota larger than this. I think if he would decide to target them he would opt to use a bit heavier tackle. I was quite amazed on how much pressure he was putting on that fish & it would come just under the boat out of sight then right back down & basically glued itself to the bottom. Hence the likely dumb look on my face in the photo. Of course I poked at him a couple times telling him to put more pressure on it so we could possibly get back to walleye fishing. He then showed me his uncirculative white fingers & asked if I might like to play with it for a bit,but I declined as it was hooked up on his side of the boat. I felt more up to the task of keep chasing it down when it would decide to go where it wanted, when it wanted so other boats might not get between us & Tims fish.

I can add a couple more photos from our outing & edit the measurements for closer accuracy. The fish was 66.5″ with a girth of approximately 28″.The fish was hooked near the tail & took just short of about 2 hours to bring boatside from initial hookup using a 8’6″ trolling rod with 14lb fireline. The charts for length at 66.5″- girth of 28″ that Tim sent me suggest a weight of 82lbs. Tim I hope the fingers are getting full circulation back & your shoulders are getting to feel better. I kept telling Tim to pull harder & he showed me his fingers which were white due to lack of circulation. The walleye bite overall wasnt bad for us boating about 25 fish which almost all but 2 walleyes fell in the 14″-18″ slot along with a mix of a smallmouth bass, 3 pike & 1 tagged 18″ Spotted muskie. It turned out to be a beautiful day. I was glad to get back out on the home pond again avoiding all the political doings & just possibly share some memorable experiences with a few buddies out for the opening day. Good luck fishing this season all.

You possibly need to get out fishing a little more instead of all this contemplative wondering!

I find it absurd what they can get away with. I guess when your above or should I say beyond our laws reach its nearly unstoppable. They have a different set of rules, laws or regulations they (might) go by. I wouldnt suspect a favorable response if any either.

The closest lake in the area is likely Lake Eau Claire.Approximately 15 miles north of Osseo.Decent fishing lake with a good mix of most all freshwater species. It has a river that flows into & out of it which can change some lake contours yearly as it is a fairly sandy shallow water body. You will need to have either a yearly EauClaire County park sticker or pay a daily user fee for using any ramps in Eau Claire county. If you decide to check it out, spend time possibly learning the lake layout before cruising the lake fast as you could be in 15′ one second & 2’the next.

If they made a camera you could actually see decent with then possibly this tool might add to its value. Without decent optics or lighting I can see more clearly another item going to be in the bargain bin. Of course there is allways the first time underwater camera user sucked in by gimmics.

I didnt figure it was going to take long for their invasion. When the gates on various damns are wide open on years such as this what is stopping them? Who needs to spend money on a fish ladder?

After doing a bit of research early last week I noticed there are 2 pools that forcasted not to reach flood levels. Alma & Lansing area. I was on P5 thurs & fish are stacked & can be caught on seams that are out of main flow of 160,000-180,000 cfs. I could not get a fish to commit in those higher flows. If he was possibly fishing elsewhere I also would like to know which landing was accessable.

I go to Holcombe a lot. Do they ever change the number once the season starts. I feel like last year they changed it. I would guess that Wissota and Holcombe are very similar. How do you fish Wissota? I can find walleye’s in Holcombe but they are typically 12-13 inches. Thanks for any help.

They usually drop bag limits until spearing quotas are released. The last few years it has dropped from 3 fish to 2 on Wissota until quotas were released & tabulated with lake survey numbers which brought bag limits back to 3 fish. How a person might fish this body of water as compared to Holcombe is really no different. You can catch fish using every technique in the book. Water temps, time of year & time of day can play a big part on where you will find active fish of better size. I dont spend much time on Holcombe but I would look at your river & creek sections early season to find possibly better sized fish making migrations back toward main lake structures taking note on possible early shallow weed growth areas which will hold fish as they tend to harbor what all gamefish species are looking for, food. Neither of these lakes have substantial amounts of suspended forage bases or water clarity that allows weed growth much over 8′ so. I would say get out cover water as quick as possible with whatever techniques or tactics you are comfortable with until you find the key areas that will generally consistantly hold better sized fish. Then you can possibly drop anchor & be the leisurely slip bobber kind of guy. Windblown, weedy & necked down or funnel areas can also all be good places to fish. Hope this might help some as you can catch the unders 14″- anywhere on these bodies of water but you will find better sized fish holding in less than 10% of key areas about 90% of the time.

Yeah, clearly that one didn’t have the horsepower needed to get me going.

It appears your ride wasnt big or fast enough to get away from quick ol draw BK. I was wondering if a couple might have possibly been involved in your ride in the park as it was a beauty of an evening.

Viewing on my phone, s the price $10? If so, I am speechless…

If you are looking for something similar look up a Spin n glo.

But paying $10, its not even a Rapala can’t catch fish by itself. BTW won’t pay $10 for a Rap either. And they DO catch fish.

I agree with Mark on on this product. Allthough I will spend over $10 on a good crank. I would not spend that on 2 rotating/vibrating pieces of plastic on stainless wire.As Mark mentioned check out Wordens Spin-N-Glow, Macks Smile Blades,or just a couple of prop style blades seperated by a couple beads will also give (sonic)vibration. There are quite a few manufacturers that have vibrating-rotating beads blades or devices that you can use as an attractor. With or without live bait & catch fish for considerably less money. When/If these go in the bargain cave for $.99 I might try them.Reminds me of the Shakey Blade concept which I didnt buy into either. Just my $.02

Another question might be how many rps are you turning at WOT & with what prop? You dont want to rev it into obliviation.

At least he has a bridge there & it is useable! The fish are still going to go through their migration patterns reguardless if people decide to fish the river or not. With flows the way they are it can be a bit more challenging fishing & loading the boat but a few fish are still being caught. Speaking of bridge I stopped by the Harbor Bar to get a bite to eat & they improvised by leaving a canoe to paddle from the dock up to the door. I take it they didnt want to spend time building a bridge & be ready for modifications. Kitchen was not running but the pizza oven worked. The scenery wasnt bad either.

We also have had a huge exposion in both largemouth and smallmouth populations and size which puts more predators in the water… these many factors all play factors into the overall equation.

So lets all go & harvest a limit of bass!

Wasnt it bottomline 8-10 years ago that had the species select finder? Which was acquired by Johnson Controls. Will we possibly see another technology lawsuit debacle ie Hummingbird – Lowrance.

Go to Overtons they might have a couple left? I just bought 5 for a great price. Going fast better hurry!

I use the Quantum Accurist PT’s for light bouncing & rigging under 1oz. Over 1oz I use my lineconter reels. I have some older Abu’s with a flipping switch that work well also. It seems you wont find many options any longer for reels with the flipping switch.Diawa Megaforce caught my eye.Push the thumbar to let line out & hit twitchin bar to engauge or retrieve 6″ every push of the twitchin bar.The reveiws havent been good enough for me to switch & I currently have enough good working reels for this application at this point.
