Met with DNR staff yesterday and they intend on having a MLFAC meeting next week to inform us on the allowable harvest and regulations. Date and location was not locked in yet.

The old “Save Mille Lacs Association” sold them to raise money for the landowners legal cost in the early 90’s. I think we selling them for $10 apiece. I still have a few left. That same print hangs in my home as well.

It’s not the wanton waste that bothers me the most. But the way state anglers are assessed with hooking mortality and the bands are not assessed spearing or netting mortality. Also the disruption of the spawning walleyes. This goes on through out the night during the spawn. I wish more people could see what we have witnessed for years!

Actually the local DNR officer was on it quickly. Unfortunately all he could do is turn it over the evidence to the band’s (FDL) DNR for prosecution of wanton waste.

It’s been said I’m overly cautious but my rig is on Mille Lacs and we are exposed to high winds. If the wind gets bad, I usually only have one shot at getting on the lift. If i miss it’s tough to get a second chance. That’s when it gets bounced around. There is nothing but big rocks in front of the lift. That’s why I went with the 2 sets. It helps with stability & setting in the right position on the bad days.

I’ve seen a number of boats get destroyed on the lake. I hope to avoid that with mine.

Picked up a 620 this spring and had to get a new lift as well. I contacted Ranger to get their suggestions on bunk set up. Al they would say is match the trailer. So I went to the extreme of 2 sets of bunks on my lift. Still trying to get the bugs worked out of the lift but the boat settles in nicely.
