You didn’t go far enough in your research. If you will click on the “ceremony” you will see that what Chris posted is true. I don’t know why you would want it not to be. It’s a beautiful ceremony for anyone that served their country.

It’s the 1776 part that I was mostly referring as being inaccurate. Like I said, it was a good read.

Don’t make a statement like that without saying why!

    Fair enough.

There is no law that states anything about the meaning of the 13 folds. And the 21 gun salute is something that just came to be through history. It has nothing to do with math.

Good read. Inaccurate, but nevertheless it was a good read.

I’m going with the assumption the boat is in great shape (for estimating purposes only). Thanks for the response.

if it gets nice like it’s supposed to, do you think it’d be worth trying over Thanksgiving, or is it too late? I’d love to try to get some perch. I just tried to fish on Minnetonka, and all the channels I checked were frozen.

Most definately I would try if you have the opportunity. It’s my understanding that it’s the ice and not the slow bite that puts the wraps on the boat. I think Derek and I would have had a very successful night if it wasn’t for the forming ice. If the forcast is correct, it should make for some great fishing.
    Good Luck.

Here’s a top view. I don’t see a seat unless this photo is modified as well (or there is a seat jack somewhere).

The real answer to what is E-85 is that it is government subsidized and would cost $5.00 a gallon if it had to stand on its own.

There is no seat. That must feel like sitting on the wing of a 737. I would personally like a back rest for, if nothing else, safety.

I rarely get called. When I do, I just say no thanks and hang up. I don’t take much stock in the poll number either. The questions they ask (on both sides) can be interpreted wrong. Plus, you get a pollster who is blindly dedicated to one party, and skews the poll for personal reasons. No way to take the human element out of it.

The only poll I take is on election day.

One more reason to vote GOP next Tuesday!

I’ve seen this quote a few times and I really hope that people can find much better reasons to “vote GOP”. The last time I saw the quote was because of something stupid Kerry said. Is the GOP track record that bad? Nothing personal, it would just seem to make more sense to use that “Vote GOP” vote after an actual politcal issue, not a DFL brain fart (God knows there’s enough of those).
I’m personally voting GOP, DFL, and some IND.

Great point. And I think it has to do with what Iraq has become. If things had gone as planned (whatever that plan was), people would not be as outraged if we had left some troops behind if they were left there only to oversee and to keep the peace. Much like the places you mentioned. And in a lot of those places we have troops on US bases. That’s a big diffence than driving down the streets of Bagdad hoping to God you don’t hit an IED.
I here so much “stay the course” and “when the Iraqi’s stand up, we’ll stand down”.
First, what course? Our troops DESERVE to know what the objective is and when they have completed it.
Second, as long as we’re there, they will never stand up.

I meant “gutted” as in numbers are down and recruiting is down. Not to mention that being “in the military”, because of the Iraq war (right or wrong), is making the option of going into the military look very unattractive.

    Hi Dave.

I’ve come across a few articles. Here’s one. I’ll track down a few others.

The army still claims that the HS diploma is a must but the testing requirments have been lowered. Whichever, it’s not the direction we want our military to be heading

Kerry’s comment was nothing more than a stupid comment from someone who has become insignificant. Remember, this is the same guy who lost the presidential race to a [censored].
With that being said, the military is being gutted. Our troops have been back and forth to Iraq 4+ times and they are wearing thin. The army is taking almost anyone at this point. They have increased the age limit, criminal records are fine, no high schoold degree….something needs to change over there and someone, Democrat or Republican needs to get the troops home or atleast a plan that leads in that direction. Our governement owes AT LEAST that much to them.

Walleyes in austin, its awesome! The paper said they stocked the three areas with several hundred pounds of walleyes, mostly weighing about 3/4 lb each. They stocked 169 fish in east side alone. I think they should have catch and release for a year or two….

The good thing is that the people who know what a walleye looks like will do catch and release. Everyone else will probably be scared to death of this new creature.

I thought this was a punchline to a joke. Austin? Walleyes? Forgive me, it’s still early in the morning. Those are just two things that I never thought I would hear together. I would have preferred this 20 years ago but better late than never.

So what the heck is going on up there? This fall thing use to be near silly when it came to catching big piggies. It’s not good to have a “lull” in the middle of the annual feeding-frenzy.
This cold weather is suppose to be good for 2 things.
    1. Piggy, cookie cutter walleye
    2. Keeping beer cold in the garage

I would do anything to be the guy asking a follow up question.
“Yes, Coach Green. Three part question. First, were the Bears who you thought they were? Two, who exactly did you think they were? And third, could you elaborate on what goes into ‘crowning’ someone’s [censored].”
