semper Fi, remove handle, drill 2 holes, make a yoke of sorts, then your longer rope,

I meant do you tie right to the handle of the bucket or do you dril a hole and run the rope through the hole in the bucket?

How many MPH do you think you can slow your boat down with the buckets?

I use 1 or 2 buckets tied off the front cleats, works very well, when not in use, good for storing things, pee bucket, dogs water dish. Cheap, I use the smaller 3.5 gallon gallon size

Do you tie to the handle and they don’t break off or do you cut holes and put the rope thru?

I have an Alumacraft too and it has bolts that go all the way through.

For my boat running against the trolling motor the trolling motor is usually set somewhere between 2 and 4. In my case it doesnt take a lot of push to slow the boat down just a few tenths of a mile per hour. Keep in mind that if you kick the main motor out of gear to fight fish you may want to hit the trolling motor to so you dont end up getting pushed backwards.

While trolling this way I do not steer with the bow mount either. It is just pushing straight back towards the main motor all the time. This is on a Minnkota power drive. Have had one guy tell me he wasnt able to do this with a cable drive due to the motor wanting to turn all the time.

Anyone ever get their bags in the prop yet? Had it happen a couple of times in my boat. My dad was trying to help out the one time and thought the rope for the bag was hung up so he loosed it up to get the rest of the line out. Cant remember how it happened the other time. Both where night trolling on mille lacs. Not the best place to be trying to pull a bag out of your prop.

Did your bag or outboard get damaged?

I know this is an old post.

You can add a drift sock to the boat cleats without any worry of stressing or damaging the cleats?

    My brother has a Wen.

    Worked great all season.

Only problem is that it gave interference to the Livescope which could not be resolved.

I wonder if adding bait to the Pinhead Minno changes the action and flash which is why sometimes not adding bait is better.

Also, you guys are talking about the Pinhead Minno, Pinhead Pro Minno, or Pinhead -Jointed?

I have all 2B rods including the Noodle.

    My bro has all Mags.

The Mags noodle is incredible and I believe I’ll be changing out my 2B Noodle for the Mags Noodle.

    I’d say any single axle.

Resorts do not seem to care if you have a steel or aluminum frame, they go by axles and truck size.

Single axle and 1/2 ton truck will always get you out there first maybe even 2 to 3 weeks earlier.

So, depends on what you want.

If you don’t mind missing a potential 2 to 3 trips than you could go dual axle especially if you have a larger family.

Personally I’d go with a single axle, 17′ footer.

If I’m correct on the BWCA areas you have to use a hand auger, not electric or gas, correct?

usmarine0352 I really like the way Mags look; they build their own blanks, right?

I think they make everything from scratch but I’m not sure.

I got all 2B rods this year and love them…..however, my bro loves Mags rods and I tried his rods……amazing.

His Mags pre-built Carbon rod is very similar to a noodle rod and incredbile.

    Try them out.

Paid $1.25 per Shiner about a month ago.

Used both on Red last weekend and guys did better with Suckers but the allure of Shiners is always there. lol

Funny you posted I have been wondering about this. Mine is about 10 years old but the instruction manual does not mention this. I’ve read the manual twice.

So dumb question. What do you do with the right side? Leave an empty 1 lb tank on it? Or doesn’t it need anything?

My bro has a Big Buddy and we run it with a hose and no tank on the other side.

Didn’t bank the icehouse last week and the holes kept freezing up.

Sufix Ice Braid did pretty decent but did get 1 ice bead where the line met the water.

It was a statement not a question. HDMI plugs don’t like multiple connections.

    Ah.

    How do you resolve that?

The cable running from hdmi plug to tv or plug itself. HDMI doesn’t like to be split.

    I’m not understanding your question.

There is a couple of splitters involved.

The night bite on lotw is great. I don’t understand the ” no nite bite on lotw”. Don’t sit in 27 ft of water where all the little sauger been all day. Move. Lots of big fish caught after dark.

    At around what depth?

    Thanks for the info –

I had not heard about the summits cracking. I like the way those ARCs look as well.

Do you have the LVS32 or 34 in your unit?

    32.

    I’d get a 34 if I could.

ARC Lab Shuttle and Pole are the best out there. A little more expensive but well worth it.

3D printed ones like Summit have been known to get brittle in the cold and break causing the screen to fall and crack.

Chad Buechler with Masterbait & Tackle in Centerville can hook you up. He did mine and set up all of the wiring for a fair price too.

I would Google and there are some really good videos out there.

In-Depth Outdoors does some great ones on finding and catching fish of all species.

Well I finally got out for the first time to some new lake I have not tried. Ended up catching the biggest metro crappie I have seen! Small plastics worked pretty tightly. If the plastic wasnt perfect they would come up and eye ball it but not eat. Whoever said to pre drill shallow before night helped me out waytogo

What does predrill shallow the night before mean?

Wouldn’t your holes just freeze over before you got out there?

You can have as long of a leader on your swivel as you want. Just don’t reel that swivel through you guides when fishing. For storage you can slowly guide the swivel through each guide by hand. Then tighten up the line. The swivel should never encounter the guide.

With a lot of newer/custom rod’s going to wire fly guides or even Recoil guides do you think it even matters? The material seems so tough that the swivel wouldn’t even hurt them. Ceramic insert guides different story.

    I don’t know, that’s why I posted this question.

I can be more cognizant of not reeling up to my rod tip but my small children definitely do not. lol

Yes don’t make your leader that long and you shouldn’t have to reel through your guides.

So I can only have like 12″ inches of leader?
