Canada gave the US a 25% tariff ass kicking last night

Laws based on emotion are different than laws based on biology.
And since we’re talking I bet you’ve never chosen to break a law.
Ever go over the speed limit? If so, shame on you for picking and choosing what laws you follow…
Right. There’s no science substantiating Mille Lacs walleye limits, as many others here have stated. So following your methodology, you’d have no problem with me keeping 100 walleyes next time I go out. Got it.

According to the DNR, as of Feb. 10, 2022, gray wolves are once again a federally protected threatened species, and under current federal guidelines, wolves may only be taken in defense of human life.My livestock and my dogs all identify as Human!!
I find it funny how some here pick and choose what fish and game laws they follow.
Go Canada. Hard to root for the US with the circus shenanigans going on there.
If you can clearly see the centerline on the highway it’s safe to drive the speed limit. If you can see the fog line it’s safe to drive the speed limit.
You’ve clearly never driven on black ice before.
I always get a chuckle out of people riding my ass when I’m going the speed limit and they’re clearly getting worked up about it. If you need to be at your destination sooner so you’re driving like a maniac, you should have left sooner. Your lack of planning is not my emergency.
Also, just a reminder that the speed limit is the maximum limit. Not the minimum limit. So many drivers out there need to slow TF down.
With the politics in Canada being worse then any one’s ever seen, I wouldn’t move there
Just wait until you figure out what’s really going on with politics in the US.
When is the last time someone heard of an engine failure due to lack of changing oil?
read up on the GM/Chevy AFM issues
When will NASA funding be reduced and subsequent contracts with SpaceX be cut?
great question. Musk has billions in contracts with the federal government. Will any of those be trimmed? I’d bet not. Anyone want to take the other side of that wager?
We want to talk about corruption and wasteful spending, it needs to be done on both sides of the aisle so to speak. Reading up on Elon’s conflicts of interest is quite alarming and eye opening.
100% agreed, and I anticipate this will be the primary purpose/goal, I certainly don’t anticipate any tax cuts as a direct result just improvement on the deficit and hopefully the debt longer term.
does your stance on this change if there ends up being big tax cuts handed out to the ultra wealthy after all this is said and done?
I’m not a Rodgers fan but its funny to me how he lives rent free in the heads of so many of you
I absolutely love the cutting of wasteful spending. However, that’s assuming this whole cost cutting effort isn’t ultimately going to be offset by tax cuts to the ultra wealthy. I’m in favor of cutting excessive spending in an effort to balance the budget and get rid of this spending deficit. I’m not in favor of cutting expenses to fund billionaire tax cuts.
The part that scares me is how unqualified Elon and his minions are for this. He’s clearly an idea guy and not a numbers guy. He had a tweet a few weeks ago saying how he was going to cut $1T of spending, which would reduce the deficit to $1T, but GDP will grow by $1T in the same period which will thus result in no inflation. This statement shows he lacks even a basic understanding of economics. That’s just not how it works. The idea that you can just add the government budget deficit and GDP growth to calculate inflation is asinine. Yet he is the one steering this ship.
But you let your media drive your fear.
you love making assumptions about peoples choice of media and somehow using your own assumption as a counter to what you think the other persons argument is, even tho they didn’t say it. Its quite laughable. Here is a link from yOuR mEdIa saying prices will ultimately go up, not down, if tariffs are put in place
If so, where is the other $85million going? If not where is the other $145milly going? Timmy’s bank account?
Here’s the DNR page with all the projects.
Jump to conclusions much?
If the vehicle you are selling is worth a significant amount of money, trading it in will save you sales tax. In my area 5.5% tax adds up.
Figure a $20,000 trade in value would be a sales tax savings of over $1,000.
It still doesn’t make you whole on what you lose out on a private party sale vs trade in. I was just talking to a metro dealership last week about a Tacoma they had and asked them what they’d give me for my Silverado. They said they’d essentially offer the kelly blue book trade in value which is ~$19k. Based on my market research, I think I can sell it private party for around $25k. The phrase “spending dollars to save pennies” comes to mind.
Not surprised they still put 3k on the stickers. Usually people are late at getting oil changes and if they think they need one at 3k, they’ll probably roll in the shop at 5k and the timing works out perfect.
wasn’t there recently a thread here where everyone was losing their minds about the increased boat registration fees that were funding programs like this?
if you think the dental system is bad, just wait until you figure out how corrupt the healthcare system is.
Never understood this thought process.

very classy post
I got out Sat for a while. One flush and one miss. Seeing tracks in the fresh dusting up there was cool.
It was interesting hunting in 8 degrees but not a problem. The old girl worked great. However it was always unnerving when she worked out of site in the vast woods since I cannot call her back. (deaf) Wish I would have hunted her on the last day of the season (yesterday) but I had enough. I doubt she will be able to hunt next year but who knows. I said that last year.
where are you hunting that the season was still open on Sat?
Mine has hung on the wall in my Garage for at 5-6 years now. I should pull it down and see if it will even start. My guess is it will not. Should just get rid of it. I looked at selling it a few years ago and there were a ton of them for sale for almost nothing.
my strikemaster still runs great and I’ve only cleaned the carbs once in the ~15 years I’ve owned it. Add some fresh gas and I’m always good to go.
The electric augers arent that tough to take care of. Just keep the batteries charged and remove them and keep in the fish house when not in use. The rest of it can sit outside no issues but the batteries prefer to be warm and snuggly.
I get it. Just a minor inconvenience. My only other knock on electric is you’re kind of SOL if the battery craps out. Not like you can go get more gas and oil quick from the gas station and the replacement batteries are pricey. Not sure how I’d feel going on a long trip to LOTW or URL without a backup battery so that means I’d probably buy 2 and that makes the initial investment even more expensive.
A once main staple ten years ago now antique . Pretty crazy how fast electric augers took over . Still line to hear one off in the distance giving it hell .
I still use my gas strikemaster with no issues – thing runs mint. Electrics are nice and all but I couldn’t justify the cost when my gasser still works great. Also, seems like they get superseded by a newer and better version every year and guys are constantly upgrading.
Whenever my gas auger bites the dust, I’ll make the switch but for now, gas is king. Plus I don’t like how you have to baby the batteries and keep them from getting cold. Its ICE fishing! Anything that can’t stay out in the elements is a questionable choice for this sport.
1 question though. did they lap the backer board over the tub/shower flange? If not, you’ll have long term water issues
thanks for the help randy. thats a great question and I’m not sure how to tell that without ripping out the tile. How far up do those flanges typically go? the fact that the gap isn’t uniform makes me think it does overlap the flange and they did a bad job of setting the first row of tile.
I will be at this house for another year or year and a half so if I can avoid ripping out the tile, that’d be preferred.
There were a few 3hp strikemaster augers. One was a tecumseh and one was the solo 154.
those things had some serious power. felt like they could rip your arms off if it caught on the ice and you weren’t bracing for it.
That foam rope I think is an excellent idea. You can find it in all sorts of diameters. I use it to seal up window A/C units because it will pinch down to get through a tight area then expand to fill the void. I really like that idea Randy gave. Probably buy multiple sizes to get the right fit.
I like it as well. Randy – Would you try to cut it in half so its more of a semicircle shape and then it could be flush with the face of the tile? The part I’m having a hard time visualizing is how to caulk it if the full circle of foam rope is installed and you essentially have a half circle protruding from the wall that you have to caulk over.
